2 JANNELE FEARS, a native Texan, is co-owner of RJ Free Lance Writing<br />
with her husband Robert. Since childhood, she has loved animals of<br />
all kinds and has a deep appreciation of nature’s ecosystems and their<br />
functions. Janelle spent two years as administrative assistant for the<br />
Range Science Department at Utah State University where she worked<br />
with five professors in developing research reports and lesson plans.<br />
Her professional writing includes articles for <strong>Texas</strong> Wildlife Magazine and<br />
newsletters for various charitable and political organizations. She coauthors<br />
various articles for beef cattle and forage magazines and edits<br />
everything produced by RJ Free Lance Writing. While Robert traveled<br />
extensively on business, she raised two daughters and then later joined<br />
her husband in international travel. Janelle is the proud grandmother of one<br />
granddaughter and four grandsons.<br />
3 ROBERT FEARS was raised in <strong>Texas</strong> where he worked as a cowboy on<br />
various ranches during high school and undergraduate studies. He holds a<br />
BS degree in agricultural sciences from Sam Houston State University and<br />
a MS in Range Ecology from Utah State University. Robert spent two years<br />
as livestock manager for the Government of Guam and 33 years in product<br />
development for Dow AgroSciences. After retirement from Dow, he chaired<br />
the Williamson County Appraisal Review for six years and developed<br />
a freelance writing business with his wife, Janelle. The couple writes<br />
magazine and newsletter articles, product literature and web material.<br />
4 DR. CHARLES GILLILAND currently holds an appointment as a Research<br />
Economist with the Real Estate Center in the Mays School and an<br />
appointment as Adjunct Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics at<br />
<strong>Texas</strong> A&M University. In addition, Dr. Gilliland is a Helen and O.N. Mitchell<br />
Fellow of Real Estate and a Clinical Professor of Finance teaching real estate<br />
investment analysis for the Master of Real Estate program in the Mays<br />
School at <strong>Texas</strong> A&M University.<br />
5 IRWIN GREENSTEIN is the publisher of Shotgun Life, the first online<br />

6 KRISTIN LEWIS HAWKINS works for <strong>Texas</strong> and Southwestern Cattle<br />
Raisers Association (TSCRA) as web content manager and editor of The<br />
Cattleman Update, a daily cattle industry newsletter. She also writes<br />
columns, articles and feature stories for The Cattleman magazine, TSCRA’s<br />
monthly publication. Kristin has been with TSCRA for 18 years, starting as<br />
receptionist and moving to the communications department in 2007. Kristin<br />
is a sixth-generation Texan with deep roots in agriculture. She has one<br />
daughter, Amy, and lives in Fort Worth.<br />

8 GREG SIMONS received a B.S. degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences<br />
in 1987 from <strong>Texas</strong> A&M University and soon after formed Wildlife<br />
Systems, Inc., a company that currently manages hunting operations on<br />
over 800,000 acres of private land in <strong>Texas</strong> and New Mexico. He is also<br />
co-owner of Wildlife Consultants, LLC, providing technical assistance to<br />
landowners and other entities on habitat management and other wildliferelated<br />
issues. Greg served as President of <strong>Texas</strong> Wildlife Association<br />
through July 2015.<br />
9 TEXAS AND SOUTHWESTERN CATTLE RAISERS ASSOCIATION<br />

10 JENNI WINEGARNER is the business manager and marketing director for<br />

across <strong>Texas</strong> and beyond. Jenni has previously worked for a national beef<br />
industry trade association in Washington, D.C. and managed the political<br />
operations for a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Raised in<br />
the registered Angus cattle business, Jenni is a third-generation producer<br />
residing with her husband and two young children near Canyon, <strong>Texas</strong>.<br />
11 LORIE A. WOODWARD has worked as a writer and public relations<br />
practitioner exploring the intersection of agriculture, natural resources<br />
and public policy for almost 30 years. Her career, which has included<br />
stints in the public and private sector, has taken her across the<br />
country and around the world, where she has been enthralled by the<br />
people of the land and their stories. She is the president of Woodward<br />
Communications and co-owner of The Round Top Register, a regional<br />
magazine focused on life in the rolling bluebonnet hills of central <strong>Texas</strong><br />
where country meets city. Woodward was reared on a ranch near<br />
Lexington, <strong>Texas</strong>, but now makes her home in San Angelo with her two<br />
children, Kate and Will.<br />
