Day 1: Adelaide<br />

Explore Adelaide city or head to Glenelg just 30 minutes away.<br />

Day 2: Adelaide – Murray River (99km)<br />

Follow the river to the historic port <strong>of</strong> Mannum where you can take a<br />

short cruise enjoying a leisurely lunch on the river. In the afternoon<br />

cross the river on the free Mannum car ferry and onto Swan Reach.<br />

Day 3: Murray River – Clare Valley (161km)<br />

Head towards the Clare Valley for some wine tasting <strong>of</strong> local Riesling. Hit<br />

the walking trails, or hire a bike and cycle part <strong>of</strong> the Riesling Trail.<br />

Day 4: Clare Valley – Wilpena Pound (293km)<br />

Make your way to Wilpena Pound. Travel via Burra, a former copper<br />

mining town well known for its art and antique shops, quench your<br />

thirst at the boutique cider brewery Thorogoods <strong>of</strong> Burra.<br />

Day 5: Wilpena Pound<br />

Start the day with a breath-taking scenic flight or hot air balloon ride<br />

over Wilpena Pound before exploring the surrounding gorges. Keep an<br />

eye out for native animals and wildflowers, especially in September and<br />

October. There are also a large network <strong>of</strong> bushwalking and mountain<br />

bike trails throughout the park.<br />

Day 6: Wilpena Pound – Barossa (397km)<br />

Today head to the Barossa, <strong>Australia</strong>’s most famous wine region. Sample<br />

to your heart’s content and enjoy lunch at one <strong>of</strong> the many cellar door<br />

restaurants.<br />

Day 7: Barossa – Adelaide (72km)<br />

PS Marion and Mannum Dock Museum – Built in 1897, The Paddle<br />

Steamer Marion is one <strong>of</strong> the last heritage steam driven vessels in the<br />

world and your chance to see history on the water.<br />

Monarto Zoo – Get lost in the wonder that is <strong>Australia</strong>’s largest open zoo.<br />

Located 30 minutes’ drive from Mannum.<br />

Martindale Hall Heritage Museum – Be transported in time when you<br />

visit this Georgian designed mansion set in rolling countryside. You can<br />

enter the rooms and get a feel for what life was like in centuries past.<br />

Located at Mintaro about 25 minutes from Clare Valley.<br />

Sevenhill Cellars and St Aloysius Church Clare Valley – Established<br />

by Jesuits in 1851, take a tour <strong>of</strong> this historic winery, the underground<br />

cellar, wine museum and church.<br />

Wilpena Pound by bike – One <strong>of</strong> the more active ways to see Wilpena<br />

Pound is by mountain bike. There are mountain bike trails surrounding<br />

the area allowing you to view Wilpena Pound “from the inside”.<br />

Jacobs Creek Visitor Centre & <strong>Rest</strong>aurant – Visit this iconic winery<br />

in the Barossa and enjoy a food and wine master class including a two<br />

course lunch with glass <strong>of</strong> wine.<br />
