Family owned and operated for three generations – Camp Rio Vista for
boys and Camp Sierra Vista for girls – provide a safe, wholesome, funfilled,
learning camp experience to every boy and girl. Giving children

Campers join us on our brother/sister campgrounds for a fun-filled
summer and become part of our Vista Family. Camp Rio Vista, established
in 1921, is the oldest summer camp in the Southwest. Camp Sierra Vista
was opened in 1982 giving a place for the sisters of our Rio Vista campers
to come and enjoy our special family.

Horse lovers dream camp. The main focus of our camps is bringing out or
strengthening the love your child has for the horse. Our goal is to teach
kids of all experience levels good horsemanship and safe riding skills both
for the show ring and pleasure. The HCF 45+ acre ranchette is conveniently
located in central Texas and provides a beautiful setting for us to share
our knowledge about horses and their care. We believe our program is the
best and your kids will develop life skills that will be with them for many
years. HCF is our passion. We love what we do and know you will too!!

Camp Stewart for Boys is a privately owned, Christian-oriented, nondenominational
camp for boys ages six to sixteen. We are located in the
heart of the famed Texas Hill Country, near headwaters of the Guadalupe
River. “Don’t wait to be a Man to be Great, Be a Great Boy” is Stewart’s
motto. The Philosophy of the camp and its leadership is to provide a
camping experience which focuses on the total development of each boy
as well as creating memorable adventures.

Camp is a community working to enjoy the outdoors, laugh with each
other, support each other, and learn to see God in everything - from
the abundant nature surrounding us, to the interactions between
individuals.

Our camp goal is to provide a summer camp experience rich in tradition
centered on our core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility
and faith, and allowing campers to gain independence, a higher selfworth
and life-long, positive memories. For instance, Pow Wow, our
chapel time, is led by an assigned cabin (teaching responsibility) and
a lesson is taught about the value of the day (e.g. Monday is devoted
to discussing the value of caring.) Our staff wear their value t-shirts
daily to remind all campers what the emphasis is for that day. Even
discipline is structured around our values: for instance, a time-out for
being uncaring and disrespectful to a fellow camper.
Activities are taught with the premise of respecting the safety rules and
always having faith in yourself and others. Each evening is concluded
with an in-cabin devotional, called Embers, which closes the day by
reflecting on the daily value, daily activities and fellowship with cabin
mates and counselors. These values transcend the camp session and
supplement the values taught at home. The YMCA Ragger Program is
also offered for those youth and staff who wish to be a part of a more
spiritual self-growth program.
