2017 today!

development, consultants, specialist fi nance and
insurance providers, communication providers, and
more. If you provide a support service or product that
is truly innovative, launched or carried out within the
catchment period, it is eligible.
In your entry please state what makes this service
unique and/or innovative. The judges will be looking
at criteria including, but not limited to, the following:
• Cost-effi ciency results for a client
• Other efficiency improvements
• Environmental effects/advantages
• Regulation requirements/adherence
• Groundbreaking R&D – this needs to be proved to
meet specific project/client needs.
New markets award
The winner will be the most innovative in using novel/
existing equipment or technology in a new way or a
new region. This could include repurposing vessels,
equipment or products for the renewables market, or
adapting/redesigning land-based equipment for a
marine environment, or carrying out research that
opens up market sectors or opportunities.
Working, Building or Engineering with
Nature award
Projects that are part of accredited existing Working
With Nature, Building With Nature, or Engineering
With Nature schemes are automatically eligible for this
category. This does not preclude other non-port/
non-terminal project candidates, but they will need to
demonstrate an active and innovative response to the
preservation and promotion of the areas listed below.
The entry should address at least one of these criteria:
• Wildlife – protect, maintain or restore aquatic
ecosystems and marine habitats. The whole marine
environment
• Air – reduce harmful air emissions from port
activities. Not just CO 2 and NO x but also PM, SO x , etc
• Water – improve the quality of rivers, seas, oceans,
but also port basins; water as a resource for living
• Soils/sediments – remove, treat, or render suitable
for benefi cial reuse contaminated soils and
sediments in the harbour district
• Community engagement – interact with and
educate the community regarding port operations
and environmental programmes, ‘social responsibility’
• Sustainability – implement sustainable practices in
design and construction, operations, and
administrative practices.
If you have created or undertaken work on a vessel,
piece of equipment, or project between 1 July 2016 and
30 June 2017, you are eligible to enter. If you have any
