THE BENEFITS CAP
In November 2016 the conservative government reduced the level of
capped benefits (as originally introduced by their former chancellor, George
Osborne, in 2010) from £26000 to just £20000 (outside London).
Many families found themselves £115 per week worse off from November -
remember these are not well-off families with disposable income.
So far the benefits cap has affected around 70000 families (note this is
families - i.e. we are taking of some hundreds of thousands of people with the
bulk being children).
The tory excuse (other than of course the nonsense of austerity) is that they
want to encourage people back in to work etc etc. I prefer not to swear
(online or offline) but a famous American abstract artist famous for dribbling
and splashing paint over canvasses comes to mind!
This is nothing less than another attack by the strongest on the weakest
under the cloak of a supposed fairness and support of hard working families
etc. - I'm seeing those paintings again!
Stop the tories from blaming the poorest for the government's rapidly
expanding debt and place the blame where it belongs - with the conservative
government which works for the few at the cost of the many.
VOTE LABOUR TO STOP THIS INIQUITOUS ATTACK ON
THE LEAST WELL OFF FAMILIES IN OUR COUNTRY.
LABOUR - FOR THE MANY NOT THE FEW.
