Spiritual Excellence
By Pastor Laurie Moss
Many women have read about
the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31:1-31.
After accepting my call to the ministry,
I have set my heart to please the Lord, as well
as my husband. The first step was accepting that God made me a
woman which I take pride in. The Psalmist stated that we are
fearfully and wonderfully made. We must accept who we are,
and realize our purpose by walking and fulfilling the will of God
in our lives. Just as everything the virtuous woman set her hands
to do, she did it very well by setting the example. She went above
and beyond the call of duty, because Verse 29 tells us that, “many
daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.”
It takes a woman of strength, character, and integrity, while
demonstrating spiritual balance to develop an excellent spirit.
Then she must stay focused on her purpose, mission, and family.
The key to overcoming challenges and struggles, is keeping Jesus
as the center of your joy, and abide in God. Most of the trials that
we face are never about us. Trials come to test us and to make us
stronger and wiser. Then, we can help others overcome by
sharing our testimonies and victories we’ve won. Finally, there
are so many lessons in the Bible that we can glean from. I’ve
been blessed to have some great men and women of God
spiritually influence me. I’m also grateful to have a loving
husband who embraces me while pushing me to inspire to be all
that God designed for my life. Excellence is something we all can
attain, as we walk in our purpose, seek to please God and our
family.
