Norwegian Cruise Lines recently<br />

announced that it was partnering<br />

with Chinese commerce giant<br />

Alibaba Group to help the cruise<br />

line reach customers in the growing<br />

China market. The partnership will see Alibaba supporting Norwegian Cruise<br />

Line with customer engagement, online-to-offline experiences, and data<br />

insights. The new 3,883-passenger Norwegian Joy will begin sailing from<br />

Shanghai at the end of June. The ship is Norwegian Cruise Line’s first ship custom-designed<br />

for the Chinese market, combining the best of the East and the<br />

West. The ship will officially be christened during an event in Shanghai on June<br />

27, featuring Chinese pop star Wang Leehom.<br />

Crystal Announces Complete Redesigns of<br />

Symphony & Serenity<br />

The most awarded luxury ships in the world are set to undergo their most extensive<br />

redesigns in their respective histories, as Crystal unveils the complete plans for<br />

Crystal Symphony’s and Crystal Serenity’s dry dock transformations. In what the<br />

company is calling the “Evolution of Crystal<br />

Luxury,” in <strong>2017</strong> and 2018, Crystal will<br />

embark on the multi-million-dollar investment<br />

that will see the two ships reimagined<br />

to new standards of innovative luxury. The<br />

plans for Crystal’s two ocean ships are the<br />

latest in its tremendous brand expansion,<br />

which will also see new river yachts, new<br />

ocean-going vessels and a privatelyowned<br />

Boeing 777 join the fleet in the next<br />

The re-imagined Delfin III (formerly<br />

the Amazon Discovery) launched earlier<br />

this year and offers three, four<br />

and six-night cruises in <strong>2017</strong> through<br />

the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve,<br />

the largest and most richly diverse<br />

area in the Amazon region.<br />

The vessel provides guests with an<br />

immersive rainforest experience while<br />

treating them to the highest level of<br />

luxury. The ship has a capacity for up<br />

to 43 passengers and is furnished<br />

with the finest details: hardwood<br />

floors, designer furniture, and handmade<br />

Peruvian artifacts. Guests have<br />

the option of four room classes: on<br />

the first deck there are eight suites<br />

complete with floor to ceiling<br />

panoramic windows, plus two spacious<br />

corner suites facing out the<br />

front of the ship. The second deck is<br />

comprised of 10 upper suites and the<br />

largest suite, the Owner's Suite. The<br />

top deck features a beautiful<br />

indoor/outdoor lounge, sundeck with<br />

plunge pool, a spa and gym, and<br />
