On behalf of the Detroit based Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus,
our Artistic Director Bohdan Heryavenko, and our President
Anatoli Murha, we would like to express our profound
thanks to the Shevchenko Foundation for your very generous
support of our recent Western Canada tour. It was truly a
joy and privilege to perform for our devoted and dedicated
supporters in Alberta and Manitoba. We were particularly
surprised and delighted that a large group traveled some
200 kms from Kenora, Ontario to hear our concert in
Winnipeg. Without your ongoing assistance we would not
be able to maintain our reputation as a leading ambassador
of Ukrainian music culture in North America. As you are
aware, almost half of our members are Canadians of
Ukrainian descent. We are proud to carry on the near
century old traditions of sharing our mystetsvo with all
music lovers and particularly our fellow Ukrainians in
the Diaspora. We hope that you will continue to support
our important work as we approach our 100 th anniversary
in 2018.

Thank you to the Shevchenko Foundation
for your ongoing support and assistance in
staging the recent concert tour of Canadian
cities by the internationally renowned Kyiv
Chamber Choir and Mykola Hobdych.
Each concert was a very special occasion
that attracted long-time fans of the Choir,
as well as new audience members thrilled
to be introduced to such talented performers
and such appealing music. Their performance
won the Choir an instant, prolonged
standing ovation at every concert. This
concert tour would not have been possible
without your generous support as one of
the Choir’s sponsors. We hope that we will
be able to work with you again, to assist
this incredible Choir to achieve the level
of support they truly deserve and to meet
our shared mission of bringing the
‘hidden treasure’ of Ukrainian choral
music to North American audiences.

I wish to thank the Shevchenko Foundation for their generous support
in making the documentary film about Ukrainian Canadian university
volunteers and their journey while working with orphaned children in
Ukraine. This film outlines how volunteerism is at the heart of a strong
and vibrant community, and captures the positive impact for change
that can be made on those who are most vulnerable and in need of
support. I look forward to sharing their story with you.
