YEAR 3 VISITS KHAO KHEOW OPEN ZOO
Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their first overnight residential trip. For some of them this was their first time sleeping
away from their parents, so at first they were a little nervous but they soon forgot their worries as they had so
much fun. On their first day they explored the zoo, feeding various animals - learning more about their teeth and
the types of food they eat. They were even lucky enough to see real animal skulls. After an exciting night safari
learning about nocturnal animals, they headed to their bunk beds for a ‘sleepover’.
On the second day the children embarked on a trek through the ‘jungle’ – they learnt about countless common
plants grown in Thailand and the medicinal properties they have. They were even lucky enough to use the materials
gathered to make their own organic soap. They really had an amazing adventure and made many unforgettable
memories.
I would like to take this opportunity to thanks all the parents and caregivers for the support you have
shown to GIS this academic year. Have a lovely break with your children, they have done you proud this
year. See you in August.
