‘Good vibrations’ all
around at Ravinia
Temptations,
Beach Boys delight
audience with
classics
Courtney Jacquin, Editor
The wind and rain
seemed ready to take over,
but a little mother nature
couldn’t stop the delightful
sounds of The Temptations
and The Beach Boys
Sunday, July 2, at Ravinia.
The Temptations started
the show, pleasing the
crowd with classics such
as “Ain’t Too Proud to
Beg,” “Papa was a Rollin’
Stone” and, of course,
“My Girl.” The current
touring lineup of the group
includes remaining original
member Otis Williams
with Terry Weeks, Larry
Braggs, Willie Green and
Ron Tyson.
The Beach Boys took
the stage second, with videos
of surfing and California
scenes fittingly serving
as a backdrop for the band
that popularized surf music
The band performed
“Surfin’ USA,” “Wouldn’t
it be Nice,” “Fun, Fun, Fun”
and many more classics.
The lineup featured
Mike Love, Bruce Johnston,
Scott Totten, Jeffrey
Foskett, Brian Eichenberger,
Tim Bonhomme and
John Cowsill.
Both groups played to a
sold out crowd.
