Crows Nest Police - month in review<br />

CRIME: Between June 1 and 17,<br />
unknown offenders have entered a<br />
rural property on the New England<br />
<strong>High</strong>way, Pinelands where a solar<br />
water pump was stolen.<br />
On June 9, police from the Darling<br />
Downs District Tactical Crime<br />
Squad executed a search warrant<br />
at an address in Perseverance Dam<br />
Road, Crows Nest. During the<br />
search a quantity of cannabis and<br />
drug utensils were located which<br />
were seized by police. A 23-yearold<br />
man, two 21-year-old men and<br />
a 21-year-old woman were issued<br />
Notice to Appears on charges of<br />
possessing dangerous drugs and<br />
possessing drug utensils and will be<br />
appearing before the Toowoomba<br />
Magistrates Court on <strong>July</strong> 4.<br />
Between June 13 and 14 unknown<br />
offenders have unlawfully entered<br />
the Toowoomba Regional Council<br />
Waste Facility on Kleinton School<br />
Road, Kleinton where a quantity of<br />
used batteries were stolen. Inquiries<br />
are continuing.<br />
On June 16, a 43-year-old woman<br />
was allegedly assaulted on a property<br />
at McNairn Road, Crows Nest.<br />
The complaint was later withdrawn.<br />
TRAFFIC: On June 23, a white<br />
Toyota utility was intercepted on the<br />
New England <strong>High</strong>way, Hampton<br />
where the 54-year-old driver provided<br />
a positive breath test. A further<br />
test conducted returned an alleged<br />
reading of 0.117 per cent BAC. The<br />
woman was issued with an immediate<br />
drivers licence suspension<br />
and will be appearing before the<br />
Toowoomba Magistrates Court on<br />
<strong>July</strong> 4 on a charge of driving whilst<br />
over the middle alcohol limit but not<br />
over the high alcohol limit.<br />
On June 25, a two vehicle non-injury<br />
traffic crash occurred at the intersection<br />
of Toowoomba Road and<br />
Curnow Street, Crows Nest. An infringement<br />
notice for the offence of<br />
failing to give way was issued to one<br />
of the involved parties.<br />
On June 28, staff from the<br />
Toowoomba Road Policing Unit<br />
attended the Crows Nest area where<br />
they performed traffic enforcement<br />
activities. Below are their results:<br />
A white Holden sedan was intercepted<br />
on Toowoomba Road. Inquiries<br />
revealed that the 46-year-old<br />
driver had never held a drivers licence.<br />
The man also returned an alleged<br />
positive drug driving analysis.<br />
The man was issued with a Notice<br />
to Appear for offences of unlicenced<br />
driving and drug driving, and will<br />
be appearing before the Toowoomba<br />
Magistrates Court on August 22.<br />
A silver Nissan sedan was intercepted<br />
on Pechey-Maclagan Road,<br />
Groomsville. Inquiries revealed<br />
the vehicle was both unregistered<br />
and uninsured. The 37-year-old<br />
driver was issued with infringement<br />
notices for these offences and his<br />
registration plates confiscated and<br />
vehicle immobilised for a seven day<br />
period.<br />

drug driving analysis. The woman<br />
was issued with a Notice to Appear<br />
and will be appearing before the<br />

August 15 for the offence of drug<br />
driving.<br />
A white Ford sedan was intercepted<br />
on the New England <strong>High</strong>way,<br />
Crows Nest where the 50-year-old<br />
driver provided an alleged positive<br />
drug driving analysis. The man<br />
was issued with a Notice to Appear<br />
and will be appearing before the<br />
Toowoomba Magistrates Court on<br />
August 15 for the offence of drug<br />
driving.<br />
A yellow Mazda sedan was intercepted<br />
on Charlotte Street, Crows<br />
Nest where the 42-year-old driver<br />
provided an alleged positive drug<br />
driving analysis. The man was<br />
issued with a Notice to Appear<br />
and will be appearing before the<br />
Toowoomba Magistrates Court on<br />
August 14 for the offence of drug<br />
driving.<br />
A purple Ford sedan was intercepted<br />
on Toowoomba Road,<br />
Crows Nest where the 38-year-old<br />
driver provided an alleged positive<br />
drug driving analysis. The woman<br />
was issued with a Notice to Appear<br />
and will be appearing before the<br />
Toowoomba Magistrates Court on<br />
August 22 for the offence of drug<br />
driving.<br />
A white Hyundai sedan was intercepted<br />
on the New England <strong>High</strong>way,<br />
Pechey where the 26-year-old<br />
driver provided an alleged positive<br />
drug driving analysis. The man<br />
was issued with a Notice to Appear<br />
and will be appearing before the<br />
Toowoomba Magistrates Court on<br />
August 29 for the offence of drug<br />
driving.<br />
During the month there were 32<br />
traffic infringement notices issued<br />
for various offences, the majority<br />
being for exceeding the speed limit.<br />
