RCCF is dedicated to improving
and enriching the lives of
people in Roscommon County.
RCCF holds various funds-all
established by local donors.
Some funds are designated
for specific causes, whereas
others are open-ended to meet
the changing needs of the
community. Funds are used to
improve our “home” here in
Roscommon County.
TYPES OF FUNDS:
Undesignated Funds:
Meeting Ever-Changing
Needs
Undesignated Funds address a
broad range of local needs. The
RCCF Board evaluates all aspects
of community well-being: arts and
culture, economic development,
education, environment, health
and human services, recreation,
youth, and more. The flexibility
of undesignated giving enables
the Foundation to respond to the
community’s most pressing needs.
Field of Interest Fund:
Choosing a Cause
A Field of Interest Fund allows
you to identify a specific charitable
area you would like to support, like
youth, arts, or the environment.
Some examples include: Lakes
HOME
Where We Grow Together
and Rivers Funds, Health Funds,
and Summer Enrichment Camp
Scholarships.
Designated Funds:
Supporting an
Organization for the Long
Term
Designated Funds are similar
to Agency Funds in that you
can name a specific charitable
organization as the recipient. In
this case, a donor (not the agency)
establishes the fund to benefit the
agency. It is fairly common for this
type of fund to be created through
a donor’s will or trust. Some
examples of designated funds
include: Animal Support Funds,
Fine Art Funds, and Education
Funds.
Agency Funds: Endowing
your Nonprofit
Organization
Establishing an Agency
Endowment Fund is a simple and
efficient way to build income for
a nonprofit organization. Donors
can be sure they are providing
a source of lasting support. The
Agency Fund becomes part of
the Community Foundation’s
pool of endowed assets. Thus,
the Community Foundation’s
economies of scale provide the
organization the benefits of a
diverse investment portfolio that
typically comes only with large
funds.
Donor Advised Funds:
Charitable Giving with a
Personal Touch
A Donor Advised Fund gives you
the opportunity to recommend
grants to charitable organizations.
You (and your family if you wish)
can work with our experienced
grant-making staff to suggest
uses for the fund, targeting the
issues you care most about. Grant
awards are issued to nonprofit
organizations in the name of the
Fund. It’s a simple, powerful, local,
and highly personal approach to
giving. In many cases, a donor
advised fund is a much better
alternative than establishing a
separate, private foundation.
Scholarship Funds:
Furthering Education
Many donors are interested
in furthering the education
opportunities of our area high
school students. Often it is to
honor a loved one who has
passed away. The Community
Foundation’s Scholarship Program
connects those dollars with
deserving local students pursuing
further education.

Dolores Munoz to check out the equipment purchased with the funding.
The Roscommon County General Fund of RCCF provided a $1,990.00 award
to the Roscommon County Habitat for Humanity for ReStore Expansion.
