Finishing Group
The Finishing Group was selected to team up with Coastal Pumping to complete 110,000 sf of paving at their new
facility located in Charlotte NC. With the help of Lucas Campbell and the VDC Group at Wayne Brothers we were
allowed to map and design the final grades using Civil 3D. We then were able to utilize the 12H motor grader and
the Machine Control on the S240 laser screed to place the concrete. Our team truly embraced the challenge of
going outside the norm of placing and finishing only. We began grading and setting forms in December and completed
the paving by February. Once the paving was completed Keith Bauer had request a Helicopter Pad to be
installed to include their company logo. Again with the help of the VDC group the logo was laid out with the total
station and Jason Thompson was able cut the outline of the logo into the pad. Last week Kevin Steel, Wilber Alves
and Heath Ashworth went back and applied the stain to the logo. The final product looks amazing. I am proud of
the entire team that took part in this project and want to thank everyone that had a hand in helping. I also want
to thank Keith Bauer for selecting Wayne Brothers as their “go to” for their 3D paving.
