Master Plumber certificate<br />

CONGRATULATIONS TO SNIPEF<br />

member Nathan Napier, Plumbing and<br />

Heating Manager at Lambert Contracts,<br />

on being awarded a Master Plumber<br />

Certificate at a ceremony held at<br />

Merchant Taylors’ Hall, London on 13<br />

February. The award recognises Nathan’s<br />

skill and his 25 years’ experience in the<br />

plumbing and heating industry.<br />

Around 120 people attended<br />

ceremony, which had representatives<br />

from eight City of London Livery<br />

Companies. Dr Andrew Parmley, Lord<br />

Mayor of London presented the award<br />

and said: “These awards represent<br />

recognition and reward for men and<br />

women who have excelled in their craft<br />

– be proud, you are valued.” •<br />

SNIPEF MEMBER firm R&I Cruden,<br />

an established renewable heating<br />

business based in Muir of Ord, has<br />

announced the opening of their new<br />

Mechanical Division. After 10 years<br />

establishing themselves as experts in<br />

the renewable industry, R&I Cruden<br />

are well placed to expand into the<br />

Mechanical sector. Their team of<br />

operatives and support staff are<br />

ready for this new opportunity having<br />

worked diligently over the last year to<br />

achieve all the accreditation required<br />

to compete for such projects.<br />

THE BUILDERS Merchants<br />

Federation (BMF) raised over<br />

£3,000 to share between the BMF’s<br />

nominated charity, The Teenage<br />

Cancer Trust, and the merchant<br />

industry charity, The Rainy Day<br />

Trust, at its largest ever annual<br />

Burns Supper held in Glasgow on 27<br />

January.<br />

The event, which celebrates the life<br />

and works of Scotland’s national poet,<br />

Robert Burns, is now an established<br />

fixture for BMF Members north<br />

and south of the border. Over 300<br />

people attended this year including<br />

senior representatives from the<br />

BMF, FMB, SNIPEF, NMBS, Grahams,<br />

MKM, Howarth Timber, GPH, Saint<br />

Gobain, D W Nye, W Madden and<br />

other merchants as guests of many of<br />

the major suppliers from within the<br />

industry. •<br />
