“Encounter Sllness,” Adult Ed Hermitage Retreat<br />

Thursday, <strong>April</strong> 7 and Friday, <strong>April</strong> 8<br />

at Pacem in Terris, 26399 Minnesota Hwy 47 NW, Isan, MN 55040<br />

Henri Nouwen called it “the furnace <strong>of</strong> transformaon” while the Franciscans<br />

call it “Hermitage.” Join Pastor Keith and 11 others for<br />

“Encounter Sllness,” an end <strong>of</strong> the year Adult Ed retreat in which we<br />

will unplug, unwind, and be changed through silence and solitude with<br />

our Lord Jesus Christ.<br />

In the last <strong>of</strong> our Global Mission Travelogue<br />

Series, we will hear from Glenn and Caren<br />

Nemec, who have recently returned from<br />

their 3rd medical mission trip to Jamaica.<br />

See pictures, listen to stories, and learn<br />

about the medical mission and the needs <strong>of</strong><br />

the Jamaican people.<br />

Join us on Sunday, <strong>April</strong> 3 at 6:00 PM. All are<br />

welcome!<br />

We will stay at Pacem in Terris, a Franciscan Hermitage featuring simple<br />

cabins and a modern spirituality center, with beauful scenery and<br />

wildlife.<br />

APRIL IS MENTAL HEALTH MONTH<br />

The Mental Health Task Force is hosng several Mental<br />

Health Forums this spring. They are:<br />

Anxiety<br />

Sunday, <strong>April</strong> 10, 9:45 AM in Room 120<br />

with Speaker, Tim Wright, Psy.D.<br />

This topic has been planned in response to the survey sent to<br />

families last fall. Parcipants will explore symptoms <strong>of</strong> anxiety<br />

in youth and adults, learn the impact on mind, body and<br />

relaonships, and learn coping skills.<br />

The Nurtured Heart Approach<br />

Saturday, <strong>April</strong> 30, 9:00 AM-Noon in the Brekke Room<br />

Cost: $10.00 per family<br />

*Register by Monday, <strong>April</strong> 25*<br />

The Nurtured Heart has had proven transformave impact <strong>of</strong><br />

children as they become aware that their intensity is actually<br />

the source <strong>of</strong> their greatness. Parcipants will receive strategies<br />

for neutralizing negave behavior, energizing posive<br />

behavior, and demonstrang fair and consistent boundaries.<br />

Grab-and-go connental breakfast and child care is provided.<br />

A speaker from the Naonal Alliance on Mental Illness will<br />

present. This training will help to combat the mental health<br />

sgma as the parcipants learn how to talk about mental<br />

illnesses, what to say and how to spread the word to promote<br />

an sgma in the church, in your work place and in<br />

your community.<br />
