The Central Valley Corvette Club was
chartered in 1991 for the owners of the only
real AMERICAN sports car, the awesome
CORVETTE. It's a social organization with
activities that provide enjoyment for the true
Corvette lover.
MONTHLY MEETINGS ARE HELD
AT 6.30 P.M. ON THE 3 RD TUESDAY
OF EVERY MONTH AT YOSEMITE
FALLS CAFE, 4278 W. ASHLAN AVE,
FRESNO CALIFORNIA. INTERESTED
CORVETTE ENTHUSIAST ARE
MORE THAN WELCOME TO
ATTEND THE MEETINGS AND MEET
OUR MEMBERS.
Club activities include monthly meetings,
car shows, weekend Club activities,
overnighters, picnics, road rallies, summer
cruises, holiday get-to-gathers and more!
Eligibility for membership in CVC is
defined in Article III, section 1 of the
bylaws in part as follows: "Membership in
Central Valley Corvettes shall be open to all
Corvette owners who are sponsored by a
member in good standing. Additionally, a
prospective member must, within a three
month period, attend two consecutive
meetings, participate in two club sanctioned
social activities, pay current membership
dues and initiation fees, and be approved by
two-thirds vote of membership present at a
general membership meeting by secret
ballot.
Sponsors shall be responsible for advising
prospective member of results. All members
must submit proof of personal insurance in
accordance with California State Law upon
application for membership, and all
members must be a member of the
association providing club liability insurance
for CENTRAL VALLEY CORVETTES.
A prospective member who does not have a
sponsor will be provided one by the
membership committee. Non-members may
not participate in more than three meetings
or two sanctioned activities as per CVC
Bylaws.
CVC membership dues are $67.00 plus an
initiation fee of $35.00. Membership entitles
two members at the same address voting
privileges at meetings (provided they are in
good standing) and membership rights.

Hi Gang:
Well summer is slipping away, and the
mystery tour is coming up. I hope all of
you will enjoy it. Please bring coats and
swim suits and if you have chains I
would bring them to. There will be lots
of food and drinks. Should not eat for at
least two days before we leave. And I
know most of you are getting older so
you should be prepared and get a lot of
sleep before the trip.
The first day will be a long drive. But we
have at least six potty stops. I hope that
will be enough? If not just let me know.
If you have snow boots bring them
because of the altitude it will get very
cold. If there any questions please don't
call. You have already paid your trip fee
and there are no refunds!!!!

wedded bliss.

General Meeting Minutes
August 15, 2017
The General Meeting was called to order by
President Andy Anderson at 6:35pm.
Minutes from the July meeting were read.
There being no corrections, Ruthie Danielsen
made a motion to accept the minutes as
read. Leigh Ann Severance seconded.
Dick Johnson gave the Treasurer’s report.
Our account continues to be in great shape.
With the monies coming in for the Mystery
Run and our fall / winter activities, Dick will
be kept busy balancing it all. The raffle keeps
amazing us. Tonight it brought in $413.00.
Charlotte Renna was the lucky winner of the
new CB and installation by Red Monkey,
donated by the Dukes. Who will win the 2nd
CB? Find out in September. Lynn Henenfent
started her vacation early by winning one of
the $50 bills. Can you say Casino!
VP of Activities, Dick Danielsen, announced
several upcoming runs and events. Check
out our newsletter with dates, time and
meeting place information. If you still have
questions, give Dick a call at home or shoot
him an e-mail.
For the second month in a row, Chuck
Laningham could not find one badge
violator. Way to go Club. Debbie Garrison
was not present for the Sunshine Report
so Charlotte stepped up and did a round
robin of club members. We found out
Dave Dawson fell and broke his hip and
Lori Garcia has been diagnosed with
Leukemia and is headed to Stanford.
Please keep both in your prayers. Happy
Cruising to a gaggle of our members, as
they head to Alaska. Charlie and Kim ask
you to please keep the rooms clean as
they sail to Alaska with their family
members on the same ship the day the
gaggle returns.

The next Board meeting will be Tuesday,
August 22 at Charlotte Renna’s home. The
next General meeting will be Tuesday,
September 19th. There being no Old
Business or New Business, Diane Hayes
made a motion to adjourn the meeting.

2018 Corvette ZR1 Spied
Sounding Like it has a Supercharger
The next great American sports car has been spied making some serious
noise. Spy photographers have caught the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
testing a few times, and at one point, the prototype had to have its exhausts
modified because it was too loud for the Nurburgring.
There have been plenty of rumors about what will power the Corvette
ZR1, but it doesn’t seem like it will be a twin-turbo V8. Instead, Chevy is
likely using a more powerful and supercharged version of the 6.2-liter
LT4 V8 engine that is also used in the Corvette Z06, Cadillac CTS-V, and
Camaro ZL1. You’ll also want to make sure you have your speakers turned
up – the Corvette ZR1 sounds and looks like it’s ready to take a
Nurburgring record or two.
