Survey about Open Space and Recreation in Medway Open for Comment: The Town of Medway seeks public participation in the update of their seven-year Open Space and Recreation Plan The Town of Medway’s Open Space and Recreation Plan Task Force is updating the Town’s Open Space and Recreation Plan to guide the Town in how it should protect, maintain and improve its open spaces, parks, natural areas, and recreational facilities. Medway’s last Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP) was written in 2010, and is required to be updated every seven years. Town John’s New England family owned and operated for 45 years staff and Task Force members are undertaking the revision efforts necessary for the update, but public involvement in the process is sought to better understand the needs of the community, and to meet the requirements of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, the state agency that approves OSRPs. This highly anticipated book sale of thousands of items will not only be on the shelves of the downstairs Friends Book Room, but also as collections, such as a dozen boxes of books about trains, an abundance of Science Fiction and horror books, and hundreds of Christmas books, some donated by collectors, next door in the Cole Room. Friday, October 20 from 4-8 p.m. is the Friends-only sale. Membership may be purchased or renewed at the door. Become a member and have the first chance to purchase books. Saturday, October 21 from 10-2 p.m. is the public sale. Most books are from 50 cents to $ 2 The following Saturday, October 28 from 10-2 p.m., is the Bag Sale in which buyers may fill up a large brown paper grocery bag for only $5. All Medway candidates are invited to participate. Last year, the local Council awarded 11 grants ranging from $200 to $600 for programs that served every age group.
