John 14:12 … To Believe in Him<br />

“Very truly, I tell you, the one who truly Believes in me will also Do the<br />
Works that I Do -- and in fact, will Do even greater Works than these.”<br />
~ Jesus (John 14:12)<br />
This is actually an extremely important biblical verse, in that it reminds us all<br />
– Christians & non-Christians alike – that we have essentially the same powers as<br />
Jesus Christ; not the powers <strong>to</strong> effectuate “miracles”, of course (Jesus himself<br />
repeatedly stressed that even he didn‟t perform any such wonders; that is was actually<br />
the faith of the healed that effectuated his healings), but rather the Power <strong>to</strong> Be Kind<br />
when least inclined – the Power <strong>to</strong> Love an enemy instead of attacking them –<br />
the Power <strong>to</strong> Care; <strong>to</strong> reach out <strong>to</strong> strangers instead of looking away – the Power<br />
<strong>to</strong> Forgive those who trespass against us – the Power <strong>to</strong> DO the Right Thing,<br />
especially when there is nothing in it for ourselves; especially when it will<br />
possibly make us uncomfortable (or even harm us) <strong>to</strong> do so.<br />
