October 12 th -15 th - Festa Italiana. Enjoy a feast of sight, sound and
Italian flavor while sharing the heritage, culture and romance of Italy at
the Houston Italian Festival presented by the Italian Culture & Community
Center. The 38 th Houston Italian Festival will be on the grounds of the
University of St. Thomas. Admission is free beginning Thursday at 5 PM
until Friday at 4 PM. There are plenty of activities for all ages to enjoy
including bocce ball tournament, marionette puppet shows, Italian
movies, cooking demonstrations for adults and children, wine tastings,

October 13 th -15 th - The Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival, now in its 28 th
year, is held the 2 nd weekend of October each year in historic downtown
Conroe. The family-friendly event features non-stop live music with local,
regional and national performers on two stages, food vendors offering
festival and Cajun favorites, arts & crafts vendors, a professional carnival,
assorted community and educational exhibits, an annual Catfish Pageant
and a Kid Zone area with activities for children and a special performance
stage featuring local dance teams, community groups and entertainers.
The Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival is a cultural program of the Friends of
Conroe, Inc., a non-profit community organization dedicated to furthering
the common welfare and well-being of the city of Conroe, Texas. The group
