The Inkling Volume 1

When we announced that there would be a school
magazine, many of you probably shared the same thought:
‘Oh no! What if I’m in one of the pictures?’. Welcome, one
and all, to the part of the magazine where you are most
likely to see yourself.
However, seeing yourself might not be such a catastrophe.
Sure, you might be mentioned in an article, or find a photo
of yourself accompanying a report of something you were
involved in. But seeing yourself is important. We all like to
relate to what we’re reading, and in this section we will be
publishing the thoughts of students just like you.
We will be covering everything to do with the school itself.
Here, you will find reports and reviews on school
showcases, exhibitions, musicals, plays, sports matches
and trips. We’ll be giving you the student-perspective on
daily life at SVC: what we really think about our
experiences and opportunities. There will also be articles
about changes made to the school, and reflective pieces
on the education we’re receiving.
But in order to paint a representative picture of life as a
Soham student, we need all of you. Have you taken part in
a performance? Lead an activity for younger students or
started attending a new club? Perhaps you went on a
particularly exciting school trip or have a lot of thoughts
about GCSE choices? This is your chance to tell your story
- so let’s tell it!
