Through the explosion in science and
technology development, human and society
will change faster in the next 25 years than
they have in the past 200 years. That raises
a very important question: how do we create
a human enterprise in the midst of this
technological evolution. CIO&Leader spoke to
Steve Wells, Director of Operations at Fast
Future Publishing, discussed the business
and societal implications of increasing
automation and how will that need the
creation of a very human enterprise
What do we need to do to
create a very human
enterprise?
As a society, we could choose to reign
in those technological developments,
and we could understand what it takes
to use those technologies so that they
serve humanity rather than humanity
serve these technologies, to create
this notion of a human enterprise.
What is it we need to do as businesses
and as employers to maximize the
opportunity that people give us
within our businesses alongside the
technology?
That's a critical question.
Today if we do move to a point where
so many people are unemployable,
we need to think of its impact on
humanity. We need to ask and answer
questions such as: How do politicians
and governments understand and
create solutions for those people who
are unable to work? How does the
tax regime around the world, not just
