We are so proud of our Keystone Members for
choosing to spend their Fall Break bettering
themselves and the community!
B A C K
A group of dedicated members visited the great
state of Texas during their fall break to tour the
University of Houston and the performing arts
center at Lamar University.
The group also provided clean up and volunteer
assistance to our friends at the Salvation Army
Boys & Girls Clubs of Beaumont who were affected
by Hurricane Harvey. They painted walls, cleaned
rooms and closets and implemented Club
programming in all areas. The Beaumont Boys &
Girls Club has struggled greatly in recent weeks
due to the extreme flooding and our members
provided much needed and appreciated relief to
the Club staff and it's members!
M O R E G I R L S W H O R O C K E D T H E W O R L D
Club members of our Club sites were encouraged to submit quotes
to be selected for inclusion in the More Girls Who Rocked the World
book released this month. Five Club members' quotes were
chosen, and now AnaMarie, Kelsi and Tierrika from Memorial Park,
and Guadalupe and Natalia from Santa Fe South are published
authors! Guadalupe and Natalie participated in a book signing at
Barnes and Noble. Congratulations, Girls! You rock our world!

another year of Fall Break fun! Their senior class had put in
countless hours of planning and prep for this event. They are
really catching the mission of the Club and some students have
even volunteered their time to help some of our members with
homework and tutoring."

The Memorial Park Club Site was selected to
receive a new technology lounge as part of a
$650,000 nation-wide grant from Cox
Communications and the James M. Cox
Foundation.
C O X T E C H L O U N G E
At the September 7th unveiling, students were
able to get their hands on $12,000-worth of high
end tech, including 21 laptops, a laptop storage
cart, 3D printer, digital cameras, photo and video
editing software, audio recording equipment,
charging towers and new furniture.
Our new Pathways Program Director, Traci
Mikulecky, has said that "the new Cox Tech
Lounge has quickly become THE place to be!"
Traci has been checking out the new equipment
to our members and using the opportunity to talk
about their plans for the future.
Thank you, Cox Technologies, for investing in our
youth and our community's future!
Members from our Cesar Chavez Club went to visit our
friends over at Hibdon Tires Plus. Bridgestone Tires has
been an incredible ongoing partnership that we
are extremely grateful for. Thanks for all that you do to
help us provide Great Futures to our members!

G O L F T O U R N A M E N T R E C A P
On September 18th, the Boys & Girls Clubs of
Oklahoma County hosted the 16th Annual Tee
It Up Fore Kids' Sake Golf Tournament at the
beautiful Oklahoma City Golf and Country
Club.
The day was off to a dreary start with rain all
morning but right as our golfers began to
arrive, the sky cleared and made way for a
perfect day of golf!
After hundreds of great swings, some close to
perfect shots and a day full of fun with friends,
our golfers returned back to the Country Club
to celebrate the winners and to hear about
how their participation has made a positive
impact on the Youth the Boys & Girls Clubs
serve.
Special shout out to our wonderful volunteers
from Ross who helped make this day possible.
Their dedication to our mission and all that we
do to serve our members is inspiring to us all.
We were lucky to have them out on the course
with us this year!
BGCOKC would also like to thank our 2017 Tee
It Up Fore Kids' Sake! sponsors as well as
everyone who was in attendance for a
wonderful day of golf. Your generosity is
greatly appreciated and helps pave the way to
great futures for our members!
