THE YOUTH
FIGHTS BACK
BY ANDREW GILBEY
A newsletter is a regularly
distributed publication that is
generally about one main topic of
interest to its subscribers.
Newspapers and leaflets are types
of newsletters. For example,
newsletters are distributed at
schools to inform parents about
things that happen in that
school. Newsletters are published
by clubs, churches, societies,
associations, and businesses
—especially companies—to
provide information of interest to
members, customers, or
employees. Google's definition of
a newsletter is, "a bulletin issued
periodically to the members of a
society, business, or
organization." A newsletter may
be considered "grey literature".
Newsletters delivered
electronically via email (enewsletters)
have gained rapid
acceptance for the same reasons
email in general has gained
popularity over printed
correspondence.
Some newsletters are created as
money-making ventures and sold
directly to subscribers. Sending
newsletters to customers and
prospects is a common marketing
strategy, which can have benefits
and drawbacks.Public
organizations emit newsletters in
order to improve or maintain their
reputation in the society. General
attributes of newsletters include
news.
done to Ciarán Connolly, who competed twice Internationally over the
Well
Ciarán, a fifth year student in Coláiste Chiaráin, competed for his
Summer.
in High Jump. He competed in the School's Athletics Competitions
country
this year, where he won a silver medal in the All-Ireland School's
earlier
This earned him his place to compete at the Tailteann
Championships.
representing Leinster, where he won the title. This led to Ciarán
Games,
selected for the Irish team to compete in the SIAB's (School's
being
Athletics Board), where he competed against the top athletes
International
result of his Club Competition success where he came second in the All-Ireland. His next success was on the
as
Team for the Celtic Games, where he placed second in an Irish, Scottish and Welsh field. We are very proud
about the event Sorcha said her highlight was beating Poland
Speaking
the semi-final: “When we beat Poland to get to the final and secure a
podium
in the Championships there was some history between the two
years
and it was a very hard fought match where we had to come from behind to beat them”. She added that
