NEW & EXCLUSIVE TO PRECISION AG
For progressive growers who want to attain a higher level of success with
every acre, PRECISION CORE is the superior-quality fertilizer program
that provides outstanding nutrition, ease-of-use and the added support
of the experts who developed it.
SALT INDEX
“ Salt index is a measure of the salt concentration
that a fertilizer produces when dissolved in the soil.
The higher the salt index rating, the more severe
the salt effect or fertilizer burn will potentially
be on your crop. It is important to consider the salt
index of your fertilizer, as well as your rate and
placement of fertilizer, to ensure you are not injuring
your seed investment. “
PRECISION CORE FALL
EXCLUSIVE TO PRECISION AG, CORE FALL is manufactured to perform
in both surface-applied and banded applications. Core Fall uses not only
NBPT technology to protect your investment, but has been formulated to
have an acidic pH that will further reduce volatilization losses. The sulphur
distribution on Core Fall is impressive and will begin to release at crop
germination and continue to feed your crops all season long. Adding
potash to Core Fall is important for plant and soil health, and also makes
prairie crops more efficient in dry conditions.
Precision Ag recommends that Core Fall be combined with a Precision
Ag MicroEssentials program at seeding to give your crops the balanced
fertility they require to maximize ROI for your operation. Core Fall can
be applied at various rates, depending on your yield targets. Core Fall
can be customized with Precision Ag’s MicroTech science to address any
micronutrient deficiencies the crop may encounter.
FALL OR SPRING FLOATING YOUR FERTILIZER?
WE HAVE A SOLUTION FOR THAT!
Precision Ag offers custom floating services based out of the Griffin
office. Our floater is variable rate equipped. We are able to float
fertilizer, dry chemical, seed, or a combination of products. Contact us
for more information.
• Buy fertilizer at low fall prices
FALL OR SPRING
• Store your fertilizer in the ground, not in a bin
• Use our CORE FALL and reduce the risk of urea volatization
• Save time and tank space by not filling your drill with urea
• Allows flexibility in building your fertility program
WHY FLOAT?
“Floating fertilizer is a great time management tool. Fall floating
allows the customer to apply product in the fall so they don’t
have to worry about the storage of fertilizer all winter. In the
spring this allows the customer to seed more acres per fill
without stopping the airdrill, increasing seeding efficiency.”
“ Quite a noticeable difference on the canola treated with Starter
versus not treated… yield, number of plants, and size. The treated
canola was consistently 5-10 bushels better.”
CHOOSING A VARIETY OF WHEAT
“ When choosing a variety of wheat, a grower should
consider a number of variables: protein levels, plant
height, red spring/GP/soft white, midge tolerance, etc.
Always consult with your Precision Ag agronomist to
find the right wheat to fit your farm.”
WINTER WHEAT
CWRW
SPECIAL PURPOSE
AC Emerson
• First wheat to have R rating
for fusarium
• Excellent lodging resistance
• Shorter straw than checks
• High test weight and improved
protein
• Very high grain yield
CDC Ptarmigan
• Strong straw
• High yielding
• Awned
• Medium maturity
• High starch content
• Seed Slowly
TOP TIPS FOR GROWING WINTER WHEAT
Winter wheat performs better if seeded at speeds closer to 4 mph.
• Seed Shallow
Seeding shallow (1/2 to 1 inch) allows the seed to take advantage of moisture
provided by fall rains. Research has shown that as little as 1/3 inch of rain is often
enough to successfully establish winter wheat that was seeded shallow.
• Seed Heavy
The rule of thumb is to seed at 1.75-2.5 bushels per acre. Higher seeding rates create a
denser, more uniform stand and are especially important in high moisture areas. Target
plant populations of approximately 30-35 plants/ft² are critical to winter survival, crop
competitiveness, and yield potential.
• Seed Early
The optimal seeding window across most of the prairies is between September
1-15. Don’t wait for moisture prior to seeding; winter wheat needs very little moisture
to germinate.
• Fertility
Adequate seed-placed phosphate will aid in the establishment of a healthy winter wheat
crop in the fall and increase winter hardiness. Using MicroEssentials SZ has demonstrated
higher yields and grain nutrient concentration compared to MAP or a MAP blend.
Applying MicroEssentials SZ results in maximum yield and increased nutrient efficiency.
NEED INOCULANT?
Ask your Precision Ag office
Inoculants are living, breathing organisms
that need to be carefully handled in all
aspects of production, manufacturing, and
storage of the product.
For this reason, we deal with companies
that can deliver both the quality and the
quantity of industry leading inoculants.
There are many companies selling bugs for
your pulses, but we are selling inoculants
that will perform.
WHY WE TREAT PULSES
" The more times you grow peas or lentils on the same piece of
ground, the higher the risk of disease. Have you ever noticed
the best pulse fields are often seeded on virgin land? If you
have peas or lentils as part of your rotation, a seed treatment
that targets the root rot complex is a great place to start in
managing disease risk. Aphanomyces and fusarium root
rot are serious diseases for pulse growers. With Precision Ag's
investment in seed treatment equipment we can custom treat
pulses right at seeding time."
ALFALFA VARIET Y TIP
“ When seeding alfalfa make sure you have more
than one variety in the mix. You should have at least
a creeping root and a tap root. That way, whether
it’s wet or dry, you should have a decent crop.”
