ANNOUNCES ITS <strong>2017</strong>-2018 SEASON<br />
Led by Artistic Director Dr. Kevin Klotz, the Houston Choral Society (HCS)<br />
announces its versatile and engaging <strong>2017</strong>-2018 season. They are truly<br />
working to fulfill their mantra of professionalism, versatility and passion.<br />
“We are providing our audiences with a wide variety of musical genres<br />
this year. We will have German folk music and waltzes, Spanish carols,<br />
Broadway favorites and The Lord Nelson Mass. There is something<br />
for everyone to enjoy in our <strong>2017</strong>-2018 season,” says Klotz. Season<br />
subscriptions are now on sale. Season subscribers save 15% for four<br />
concerts. Season tickets are $85 for adults, $65 for seniors/students and<br />
$30 for children 5 years old and under. Season tickets are available online<br />
at www.houstonchoral.org. The Houston Choral Society performs at The<br />
Foundry United Methodist Church, which is one of the premiere choral<br />
venues in Houston with extraordinary acoustics. It is located in northwest<br />
Houston at 8350 Jones Road, Houston, TX 77065 with easy access from<br />
Highway 290.<br />

FREE MEMOIR WRITING WORKSHOP<br />
<strong>Cypress</strong> Historical Society at <strong>Cypress</strong> Top Historic Park running through<br />
<strong>November</strong> from 10:30 AM to 12 PM. Everyone has a story and everyone<br />
has memories. Some of them are good. Others are not so good. But, all of<br />
them are valuable. This workshop is about preserving your family history,<br />
one memory at a time. With the help of your teacher, coach and mentor<br />
you will learn to jar those faded memories loose, then compose, organize,<br />
preserve and share them electronically for future generations. Jackie<br />
Devine loves working with active writers and people who have never<br />
tried to write! This course will help you understand the memoir writing<br />
process: story structure, scenes, dialogue, character development, tone<br />
and voice. You’ll learn that you are creating a legacy. If desired, stories will<br />
be recorded and saved online where family and friends can enjoy them for<br />
years to come.<br />
