You Are A Saint in The Making
ALL Saints’ Day is a big holiday for us Filipinos. And we know
how to “correctly” celebrate it, or at least many still do. We go to
cemeteries and/or remember and pray for our dearly departed
loved ones, wherever we are.
In most parts of the world this is a big celebration too, but
with another name and form. It’s HALLOWEEN! And we know how
this is turned into a ghastly, grotesque, and grim night of scary
and creepy display for a “Trick or Treat” or for whatever event
that’s supposed to be fun.
The horror theme is everywhere - from movies and TV shows
to entertainment parks, malls, restaurants, and even at home.
And to think that the word “Halloween” is derived from the words
“Hallow Evening” or “Holy Evening”.
Please tell me what’s holy in glorifying the morbid and
the macabre.
It’s good to know that in many places, a Parade of Saints are
held to rightfully celebrate All Saints’ Day, initiated mostly by local
parishes, to counter the ghoulish “Halloween” culture.
It’s time we turn “Halloween” into “Holy Win!” It is in holiness
that we truly win the battle against evil, not in exalting it.
Today, on our Big Day of our explosive series, Angels and
Demons, we continue to focus on the good, the holy, the saintly,
and in following Jesus, instead of getting obsessed by what’s
demonic, whether ignorantly or maliciously.
We start a Two-Part Talk on the ARMOR of GOD. The Bible
says, “Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand
firm against the tactics of the devil.” - Ephesians 6: 11
Get ready for another powerful Feast!

“EVERY saint has a past and every sinner has a future.”
Yes, you read it right. We are all saints in the making. Hold on…
How come you don’t feel that coming along? Some of you even
feel like throwing up and could not take in this statement. Why? Is
it because you are so focused on the sins, failures and mistakes that
you’ve done in your life? Well, guess what? All these revered bible
heroes and saints have their weaknesses and defects too.
Abraham lied. Sarah laughed at God’s promises. Moses stuttered.
Jacob was a liar. David had an affair. Solomon was too rich. Naomi
was a widow. Miriam was a gossip. Elijah was burned out. Jonah
ran away from God. Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal. Gideon
and Thomas both doubted. John the Baptist was a loudmouth.
Peter was afraid of death. Paul was a murderer.
Just like us, they have walked in the face of the earth and
have made a decision to follow Jesus despite all the challenges
of living a Christian life. Only God’s grace is the truth that makes this
seemingly impossible gift of sainthood possible for all of us.
“My grace is all you need.” 2 Corinthians 12:9, GNT
And even if our sin is great still God’s love is greater.
Let us rediscover our Lord’s story in the messy life stories of our
saints. Choose one saint each day and ask them to pray for you.
YOU and I are saints in the making. Even if it is challenging to
accept, we can start practicing how to become one now.
Let me end by asking you: If you will be a canonized saint,
what will be your message and how do you want the world to
remember you?
All saints, pray for us. Amen.

TUMOR AND MY DEAL TO GOD

shares how healed her dad and how God blesses her through
service at The Feast
The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never
come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your
faithfulness. - Lamentations 3:22-23
IN June 2016, our family were shocked when we heard the news
that my father had a tumor in his right jaw that had to be removed
immediately.
Since my father is a devotee of Our Lady of Peñafrancia,
he decided to go to Mother Seton Hospital in Naga City for his
surgery. Thankfully, the operation was successful but the biopsy
test showed that the tumor was cancerous.
THE LONG WAIT
My father’s surgeon referred us to another pathologist in
Manila for a second opinion.
While waiting for the result, I did two acts of faith. First, I
asked and prayed to Padre Pio to intercede for our family during
these tough times. Second, after I attended the Feast that
Sunday, I proceeded to the Pray Over Shepherding and Healing
(POSH) Ministry table and asked them to pray over me. I believe in
intercession ever since.
THE DEAL
I met two godly men, Bro. Reggie and Bro. Sam. They openly
and gladly prayed over me for my intention for the spiritual and
physical healing of my father.
“Sis, even if there are only few servants here at POSH, rest
assured that we will pray for you and for your father.” Bro. Reggie
told me after the pray over.
I smiled and thanked them.
On my way home, Bro. Reggie’s words were stuck in my

mind. So, in my prayer time I said, “Lord, please answer my prayer.
I promise, I’ll serve You.”
Few days after, I received a text message from my mother
informing me that the result of the biopsy was a benign tumor!
Praise God, my father is cancer-free now!
MEETING WITH GOD
I thought I was giving God a favor. I thought it was a deal
coming from me. But I was wrong. I realized that those tough
times were just an instrument of God for me to serve Him. Not
only because I was grateful, but because He was preparing me for
more blessings through service.
I realized that when I joined the POSH Ministry in July 2016, my
life has changed. God met me in the POSH ministry where I also
gained learnings, love, and true friends. Now, I can feel God’s love
everywhere!
Truly, God’s love never ceases!

BIG MESSAGE
FOLLOW JESUS
Many think that oppression is synonymous to demonic
oppression. The truth is, there is a spiritual warfare. So, how do
we battle the enemy? The only way to fight the devil is to follow
Jesus and be one with God and we will gain strength.
Don’t focus on what our enemy is doing; focus on what God
can do for us. Don’t live in fear. No matter what, we are always
the winner; we are always stronger than the enemy because we
have Jesus.

always justice. Nobody gets away with
anything; anyone must take full responsibility

The church is here to help people
make good judgment and become good
citizens. While we have obligations to
speak out, we are being taught to do it for
the common good.

I said this to one guy and he said, “Gosh Bo, I’m the farthest thing
to a saint. My life is one big mess. Name a sin and I’ve done it. Sorry Bo, I
have been amiss in the Loving God department…”
I told him, “We don’t become saints because we love God, we
become saints because God loves us.”
On All Saints Day, we celebrate two kinds of saints – big S and small
s. Big S are canonized Saints. They love us and pray for us. I call Jesus
my Chairman of the Board, since He’s the Owner of my life, and my Board
of Advisors are Mama Mary, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Ignatius of Loyola,
St. Benedict, and a few other amazing Heroes of Faith. Me? I’m the CEO.
With the Chair’s guidance, I make the decisions and execute His desires.
My Advisers cheer me, support me and inspire me.
