…a word from our President!
Hi Corvetter’s:
Well another month has gone and
where did it go? We had the Halloween
party and had a great time I hope
everyone did. Lots of food and
friendship. Debbie took pictures, and
you all looked great. Char put a lot of
pictures on Facebook. Connie wanted
to play bingo but I thought that was for
old people!! But you know who won!!!!
The annual meeting is in Nov. We will be
voting for the new board. Dues will be
due by Nov. Meeting. I cannot believe a
new year is about to start. Skip came up
with the Idea to give a 1,000 dollars to a
local charity. And the board took a vote
at our last board meeting and agreed.
We will be taking a vote from the
members because the board can only
spend $200. without taking a vote from
the Members. Then we will decide what
charity to give to. Well that's all for now.
Your President,
Andy

that run leaders know what their budget is.
Leaders are to provide a cutoff date for
final sign ups and payment. And please – If
you find you are not able to attend a
run/activity, have the courtesy to call the
leaders and let them know. It was noted
that Keith Garrison did not have ice cream
on the Badger Run. Debbie Garrison
announced the Laughlin Run hosted by the
Bakersfield Club will be April 19-21 st with a
Psychedelic 60’s Theme.
Member who has missed 4 meetings or
more in the current calendar year are
unable to nominate or vote in the
upcoming elections.
Chuck Laningham found 3 badge
offenders. Debbie Garrison followed with
her Sunshine Report. Dave Dawson is not
doing well. He has had a reaction to the
medication. Joyce Kroeker has started
immune (chemo) therapy.
Old Business: None
New Business: Skip Severance
Oct. 17, 2017
Our Diane Hayes was in Las Vegas the weekend of the shooting with a girlfriend. They were in
Paris at the time the shooting took place but did not know what was going on. They announced
over the loud Speaker for everyone to pick up their money and go directly to their rooms and
stay there. They got on the elevator with a group of women that were hysterical, Diane told
them to calm down and pray. By the time they got to our floor they had calmed down. All the
hotels and casinos were in lockdown until they announced “All Clear” at 4 am. They woke up the
next morning and turned on the TV and saw all the devastating news. They had an early flight
out on Monday, so got dressed and went to the airport, but the plane was delayed for almost an
hour. They made it home safely, but all the while praying for all those involved and families of
the deceased. So sad.
Joyce sent me a note that our Ed Kroeker has been transferred from Horizon Rehab to private
home 3 blocks from their home. Hoping to get stronger and improve his walking. Joyce just had
her first immunotherapy treatment last Thursday with 5 more weeks.
Talked with Lupe Dawson yesterday to get an update on Dave, he’s had yet another setback, just
got home last Friday from the hospital once again. The blood thinner he is reacted with one of
the other medications he’s taking and he started losing blood. They took more tests while at the
hospital and fortunately everything with his heart is fine. They were going back to the Doctor
and hopefully they will a new blood thinner he will be able to take. He is very weak and both he
and Lupe have lost a lot of weight. Dave’s down to 170 lbs. Both of his sons have been very
supportive helping Lupe however they can. And they have nurses coming in every day to
monitor his progress. Lupe’s sister just flew in this past Sunday to lend her support to help Lupe
cooking and cleaning.
Please keep Dave and Lupe and Ed and Joyce in your prayers.
On a brighter note on October 12, Dick Johnson and Glenn Henderson drove to Pahrump,
Nevada and drove Corvettes for the next two days in the Ron Fellows performance driving
school at Spring Mountain Raceway. It was an incredible experience, at a first-rate facility. There
was classroom time followed by driving time to practice what we just learned in class. Then back
to class, then back to the track. It started at 8:00 AM each morning and finished at 4:00 PM each
evening. Everyone that likes to drive would get a lot out of this class. We came away knowing
we can handle our cars much better than when we arrived.
Lee and Holly Baumgarten will be on the RV road once again! November 1 st , they are headed to
Phoenix International Raceway for the NASCAR races. They will be there for two weeks as
campground hosts as well as attending the races. Then it's on to New Mexico to visit friends and
enjoy the Southwest!!! Your Sunshine Girl, Debbie G.
2019 CORVETTE EARLY PRODUCTION ANNOUNCED
NCM, October 12, 2017
Well, that was quick! Rumors have been confirmed that production of the 2018
Corvette will cease early for the model year. The last date to order a 2018 Corvette
is November 16, and the last week of production for the 2018 model year is the
week of January 22. The 2019 model year will begin rolling off the line the week of
January 29, 2018. Orders for the model start November 30. (whew we need a
calendar for all those dates!) Right now, planned volume for the 2018 Corvette is
just shy of 9,700 units, making it one of the shortest model years. No major changes
are coming for 2019 as models, colors and options from 2018 will carry over (sans
the Carbon 65 Edition). Less than 100 65 th Anniversary Carbon Editions are
remaining of the 650 cap for 2018. A new order guide for 2019 will be released on
Nov. 20. Sebring Orange (G26) can now be ordered, and a small ramp up of the new
hue begins the week of December 11 (in the new paint shop, we might add). But
what about the new paint shop? Production at Bowling Green Assembly starts back
up November 6, and at that time the ‘basics’ (Black, Arctic White, Torch Red,
Corvette Racing Yellow) will begin rolling through the state‐of‐the‐art paint shop.
Tintcoats will follow the basics at a later date (Admiral Blue, Blade Silver, Cyber
Matrix Gray, Long Beach Red, Sebring Orange and Watkins Glen Gray. As for the
quality of the new paint – we’re told customers will not be disappointed. Some
even tout the quality to be better than the crème de la crème Cadillac paint. And as
for a “C8” mid‐engine Corvette, no official word has been received announcing the
highly anticipated model. But it has been photographed quite a bit lately. Perhaps
it’s GM’s way of teasing us just a little bit! Next year’s Michelin NCM Bash will
certainly be colorful when GM takes the stage to present on 2018 and 2019… and
we know you’ll want to be there to ask questions and be in the know.
Ron Fellows Corvette Owners Performance
Driving School – Pahrump, NV
Wow!! What a great experience. Glenn Henderson and I
recently spent two days at the Corvette Owners School
(COS) at Spring Mountain Motor Sports. We didn’t even
know this was on our bucket list until we were there. Two
days with both classroom education and driving a 2.1 mile
race track. It was worth every penny – just see the smiles
on our faces.
