Following the CatchUp, the learner works with their person to identify goals from the
CatchUp and to persue them as possibilities in the community. At this point
opportunities and resources are identified.

3.1 Contributions meet the personal goals, wishes, aspirations, and abilities of the
person and the nature and level of support required.

Community Connections considers good support to have these factors:
The support given and received is based on a shared understanding of what is expected
and required. Attention is paid to ensure that there is not over or under
supporting, a strong mutual understanding is required for this.
The support encourages and motivates the supported person to achieve the goals they
have set for themselves. Encouragement and motivation need to be given in a
manner that is fitting for the unique relationship that exists between support
worker and supported person. Styles will differ between relationships.
Unpaid support or natural support networks are encouraged and developed.
The support acknowledges and celebrates achievements made. Again, the way this
happens needs to be based on the unique relationship between that particular
support person and that particular person being supported.
The Coordinator Verification for the Practical Project will provide examples of when
these three factors of support have been observed.
