Amalgam being the world’s first Index-based cryptocurrency means
that as a token, its value’s correspondence with a Price-Weighted index
eliminates risk of a serious price crash.
Amalgam’s blockchain smart contracts call for an additional level of
encryption, protecting user information. Additionally, our team is
developing smart contracts that prevent a major sell-off of AMG and
subsequent price manipulation.
The total amount of outstanding tokens of AMG will never exceed
100M, further eliminating risk of value dilution.
Many of Amalgam’s partnering vendors will offer discounts for
customers using Amalgam. For example, a pair of sneakers that costs
$100 USD can also be purchased from the same vendor for $95 USD
worth of AMG.
The daily returns of our Price-weighted Cryptocurrency Index outpace
the S&P 500 and Dow Jones.
DESIGN ADVANTAGES
According to IBM DeveloperWorks, Blockchain protocol mechanisms “provide
the benefits of a consolidated, consistent dataset with reduced errors, near-realtime
reference data, and the flexibility for participants to change the
descriptions of the assets they own. Because no one participating member owns
the source of origin for information contained in the shared ledger, blockchain
technologies lead to increased trust and integrity in the flow of transaction
information among the participating members.” 4
The blockchain database isn’t stored in any single location, meaning the records
it keeps are truly public and easily verifiable. No centralized version of this
information exists for a hacker to corrupt. Hosted by millions of computers
simultaneously, its data is accessible to anyone on the internet. 5
