ABOUT THIS DECOY
This exceedingly rare and beautiful
blackhead wing duck decoy was made
and used by Eldon Willis, Monnie Willis,
Howard Pittman, and Jasper Golden,
circa 1940. This bird is published in Neal
Conoley`s Waterfowl Heritage, North
Carolina Decoys and Gunning Lore, page
263. A new boxed limited-edition of this
historically significant publication (#82
of 100) is included with the decoy. This
book has become highly collectible. Neal
Conoley discovered a few books in his attic
and has donated this edition to the Core
Sound Museum for a “special” occasion.
This book gives important significance
to this decoy and is offered as a one-time
opportunity for Core Sound collectors at
this year’s Heritage Auction.
