FUN AND CREATIVE COMPUTER
SCIENCE WITH BAREFOOT
Computer science doesn’t always
have to be mathematical, or
scientific. It can be taught in fun,
engaging and cross-curricular
ways. All children are now
growing up in a digital world –
learning and exploring it is so
important to their futures.
Teachers who have accessed Barefoot
resources are more confident than their
peers too, with 84 per cent understanding
computational thinking, compared with
57 per cent overall.
Working in partnership with the Welsh
Government, BT, and Computing at
School, all the resources are aligned to the
Welsh national curriculum and the Digital
Competency Framework, including engaging
activities for SEN pupils.
So far, Barefoot has reached more than
1.25 million children, but there are
many more to reach.
How can you get involved?
If you’re a primary teacher, register for free
resources and lesson plans or book a free
workshop for your school by visiting
www.barefootcas.org.uk, or become a
Barefoot volunteer.
