Nice is the cultural capital of the Côte d‘Azur.
It seems that everyone here wants to outdo others
by flaunting Mediterranean flair and French
“savoir vivre”. Impressive buildings, a picturesque
old town, a mild climate, wonderful beaches
and its creative residents make Nice one of the
most attractive cities in Europe. But sport as well
as art is of great importance here. The famous
spring classic cycling race Paris - Nice for example,
or athletics and football have their place
here. And last but not least: the first long distance
Triathlon in Europe took place in Nice in 1982!
The heavily populated coastal strip merges into a
mountainous wild and romantic hinterland, scattered
with small villages. The expression “Living
like a king” could very well have originated here!
Hannes himself was already racing in Nice in
1984, back in the days of Dave Scott & Mark Allen,
and fell in love with the city as well as the
race. After the IRONMAN France moved to
Nice, HHT had a presence for many years at the
expo there. Hannes‘ former GO-Sport teammate
Yves Cordier is now the race director in Nice.

the Triathlon scene will be on Nice, where the
very best athletes in the world will stand on the
starting line in order to determine their champion.

are direct flights from almost every major city.
Nice‘s airport is located only 7 kilometers from
the city centre.

The upper middle class hotel is ideally located in
the heart of Nice, only a few hundred meters from
the start/finish area. The wonderful beaches and
the pretty old town are only a few steps away.
The Classic rooms are equipped with a double
bed or two single beds. The Superior Rooms are
slightly larger and have a sofa bed additionally,
which is ideal for families. A complete and filling
breakfast buffet is included in the trip‘s price. Restaurants
for dinner and small supermarkets can
be found in the immediate vicinity of the Nice
Riviera.
You can request a double occupancy even if you
are traveling alone. We will then try to find you
an adequate roommate.
