Introduction
Anticancer, or
antineoplastic, drugs are
used to treat malignancies, or
cancerous growths. Drug
therapy may be used alone, or
in combination with other
treatments such as surgery
or radiation therapy. ell

Cell proliferation is involved
in many physiological and
pathological processes
including growth, healing,
repair, hypertrophy,
hyperplasia and the
development of tumours.
Angiogenesis (the
development of new blood
vessels) necessarily occurs.

Several classes of drugs may
be used in cancer treatment,
depending on the nature of
the organ involved. For
example, breast cancers are
commonly stimulated by
estrogens, and may be treated
with drugs that inactivate the
sex hormones. Similarly,
prostate cancer may be
treated with drugs that
inactivate androgens, the
male sex hormone.

Treatment
Anticancer therapy,
especially in veterinary
medicine, was based and still
relies almost exclusively on
surgical therapy, although
associated therapy has
developed over the past
decades: surgery and/or
chemotherapy and/or
radiotherapy, with the
development of cryotherapy,
immunotherapy and in
general, the adoption of
techniques and methodologies
used in human oncology.
The therapeutic strategy
should take into
consideration three
indispensable elements:

– the histological nature of
the lesion;
– the assessment of the
extension of the tumor
process;
– the evaluation of the
general disease state.

Medications
WHAT IS XTANDI ?
Xtandi is categorized as an
antiandrogen. Antiandrogens
are substances that block the
effects of testosterone.
Cancer of the prostate
depends on the male hormone
testosterone or related
androgens for its growth. If
the amount of androgens are
reduced it is possible to slow
down or shrink the cancer.
MEDICINE USES :
Enzalutamide 40mg is used for
the treatment of metastatic
castration resistant prostate

cancer (prostate cancer that
is resistant to medical or
surgical treatments that
lower testosterone). This
medicine also prevents the
androgens from working
within the prostate cancer
cells.

ZECYTE Abiraterone works by
reducing androgen
production in the body.
Androgens are male
hormones that can promote
tumor growth in the prostate
gland.
ZECYTE medication is used
along with prednisone to
treat men with prostate
cancer that has spread to
other areas of the body and
has not responded to surgical
treatment that lowers
testosterone levels.
ZECYTE Tablets can cause
foetal harm when
administered to a pregnant
woman. ZECYTE Tablets is not

indicated for use in women.
ZECYTE Tablets is
contraindicated in women who
are or may become pregnant.
If this drug is used during
pregnancy, or if the patient
becomes pregnant while
taking this drug, apprise the
patient of the potential
hazard to the foetus and the
potential risk for pregnancy
loss.

Erlonat (Erlotinib) is a
kinase inhibitor which is
primarily used to treat
cell lung cancer, or
pancreatic cancer when
combined with a certain
other medicine. It works
by inhibiting growth to
adjacent tissues in the
body so that the
cancerous cells slow
down, allowing the
patient a better
environment to recover
and fight the cancer
naturally.
Uses:
Erlonat 150mg tablet is
used in the treatment of
pancreatic cancer and

small cell lung
cancer.Erlonat
(Erlotinib) is a kinase
inhibitor which is
primarily used to treat
cell lung cancer, or
pancreatic cancer when

Tasigna Nilotinib is a
kinase inhibitor. It works
