Although insurance can help to mitigate loss and restore property and goods, it is often the emotional loss that has the most long-lasting effect, and for some this lasts for the rest of their lives. The recent brutal attack on Barnard’s Green Post Office has left the local community with a sense of outrage and loss. We can barely imagine what this has meant to Jenny Cain and her team, and it is a huge credit to them that they have borne this terrible situation with fortitude and stoicism. They have continued to provide a much-valued service throughout this huge disruption. We should all visit them and say a few kind words of thanks. They have been a wonderful example of all that is good with our local business in Barnard’s Green Our local independent shops have a tough time surviving in this era of large retail parks, supermarkets and online shopping. Your support is vital to both theirs and your other local amenities So, as the Post Office returns to full operational mode, let us all rally around “The Green”, and show our appreciation by our kind words and support. If we all spend just an extra pound or two in “The Green” each day or week, this will collectively make a big difference. Happy local shopping.
