Metropolitan
PSP to hold rally in Karachi’s
Liaquatabad on Dec 24: Kamal
KARACHI: Pak
Sarzameen Party Chairman
Mustafa Kamal said on
Thursday that people will
have to come out on streets
for their rights, announcing a
rally in Karachi’s
Liaquatabad.
The PSP Chairman was
addressing a press conference,
where he said that the
party doesn’t accept the result
of the census regarding
Karachi, held earlier this
year.
He said that the metropolis
is going through a myriad
of issues, blaming the provincial
and local government for
lack of appropriate action.
Kamal said that it is the
responsibility of the provincial
government to provide
the people with basic necessities
and protection of their
rights.
“Karachi’s demand of
Mustafa Kamal appears before NAB in land grabbing case
water is 1,240 million gallons,
the figure that the Chief
Minister Sindh told is 600
million gallons less,” said
Kamal.
The Sindh government
needs to correct their statistics,
said the PSP chief.
Kamal said that government
KMC Council approves six resolutions
KARACHI: The council of the
Karachi Metropolitan Corporation
during its meeting held on Thursday
unanimously approved six resolutions
whereas two other resolutions
were deleted from the proceedings
and a resolution was sent to the concerned
department for suggestions.
The meeting was presided over by
the Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar in
the Council Hall of KMC Building.
The council through a resolution
appealed that people residing in illegal
structures built on encroached
lands may be provided justice as they
bought such properties with their hard
earned money.
Akhtar asked the chairman of
legal affairs committee of the council
to take this matter to the court on
humanitarian basis so that these people
could be provided with some
relief.
In the meeting through two identical
resolutions which were approved
unanimously council members condemned
US President Donald
Trump’s decision of accepting the
Bait-ul-Maqdas as capital of Israel.
The resolution was moved by
Precious lands in major
city park encroached
KARACHI: Workers of KDA and Enforcement Department use heavy machinery to
demolish the encroachments in Korangi.
KARACHI: Land grabbing mafia has
encroached precious land of some major
parks of Karachi including Kidney Hill
Park, Jheel Park, Hill Park and Aziz Bhatti
Park, while illegal allotment orders have
also be issued to some of the encroachers.
Land grabbing and China cutting mafia
has even not spared the major parks of the
city and encroached upon dozens of acres
of the precious land of these parks worth
billions of rupees. The China-cutting hit
parks include Hill Park, Jheel Park,
Kidney Hill Park, Aziz Bhatti Park, City
Park, Ahmed Ali Park and other parks.
However, the sources said that this is just
the tip of iceberg as government lands
worth trillions of rupees are grabbed by
powerful China-cutting mafia in Karachi.
Several dozens of houses, marriage
halls, shops and other illegal structures
have already been erected on the grabbed
land. It is learnt that some influential persons
and politicians are involved in these
scams and removal of these encroachments
would give a tough time to local
administration.
Junaid Mukati who said that Muslim
countries must show their unity. He
suggested introduction of a common
Muslim currency that could be used
like the Euro and Dollar.
Through another unanimously
passed resolution it was approved that
Mayor Karachi would meet with the
KWSB officials and the M.D KWSB
on the issue pertaining to water and
sewerage.
The council through other resolutions
condemned the Quetta Church
attack and observed one minute
silence for the victims.
