Array Fuel Cell
The Array Fuel Cell is a PEM fuel cell designed to generate identical
temperature and flow conditions across the entire active area. The
working/array side of the membrane-electrode-assembly (MEA) consists of
25 independent disk electrodes. The array MEA counter electrode is a 100
cm 2 electrode, 5-times the active area of the sum of the working (array) side
electrodes. There is minimal polarization of the counter electrode when
used as a hydrogen reference electrode. The counter-reference electrode
strategy mitigates random errors due to variation of the counter electrode
performances in banks of single cells. The Array Fuel Cell is available in both
parallel and serpentine configurations for gas or liquid reactant streams,
respectively.
Serpentine Array Fuel Cell
Ideal for non-compressible reactant streams used at high stoichiometric
ratios, such as liquid feed direct oxidation fuel cells.
Parallel Array Fuel Cell
Ideal for gaseous reactant streams; has five independent flow field columns
with five electrode spots each.
Specifications
25 working electrodes with an area of 0.713 cm 2 each against a common
counter electrode with an area of 103 cm 2 . Customized insulation and
heating systems are included with both array fuel cell systems. Dimensions
Rapid Prototyping
The populated printed circuit board is the most important component of an electronic device. Proper design and
quality control testing procedures are essential for transitioning concepts to market. Our designers have a track
record for bringing concepts to market. In addition to flushing out your circuit design, we will test circuit design
components prior to generating a final CAD layout of the board using Altium. NuVant will procure and populate
the PCB boards using in-house APS Novastar manufacturing equipment. The manufacturing line equipment
includes a solder stencil machine, an automated pick-and-place machine and a reflow oven. The entire line is
supported on an antistatic floor. Through-hole components are soldered by hand. NuVant will system integrate
the board within an enclosure, design front and back panel decals, and provide detailed testing procedures
and test data. When required, NuVant will suggest design changes and elucidate design weak points. Finally,
NuVant can provide light manufacturing of your new product line and participate in processing end-user feedback
information. We have an experienced design and procurement team that will get you the lowest cost-of-goods
for your products. We will bring your concept to market efficiently and cost effectively. A strong point of NuVant
Systems is our documentation. You will be provided with sufficient documentation to move forward with your
sales and marketing plan independently of NuVant Systems.
