represented Cy-Fair at the awards dinner.
Touchdown Club Coach Of The Year
Cy-Fair High School head football coach Ed Pustejovsky earned the top
coaching award by the Touchdown Club of Houston, as he received the
John Kelley Coach of the Year Award at the 38 th annual awards dinner,
held December 13 th at the JW Marriott. Pustejovsky’s win is the first for
CFISD since former Bobcats head coach Ronny Peacock was named
Coach of the Year in 1999.
“Coach Pustejovsky is very deserving of the Houston Touchdown Club’s
Coach of the Year award,” said Ray Zepeda, director of athletics. “He and
his staff have been a model of excellence and consistency over the course
of many seasons.”
Langham Creek head coach Todd Thompson was a finalist for the
coaching award after he lead the Lobos to an 11-2 season and berth
in the Class 6A Division II Region III final. They met Cy-Fair in a historic
all-CFISD regional championship game. CFISD also had finalists for the
two player awards. Cy-Fair senior linebacker Jace Bobo was nominated
for the Clark Nealon Defensive Player of the Year Award, while Cypress
Ranch senior offensive lineman Colten Blanton was a finalist for the Dick
Peebles Offensive Player of the Year Award.
