Dreamworld’s General Manager of Life Sciences Al Mucci says the koala enclosure<br />
in the Vintage Car Adventure experience would hopefully draw attention to the<br />
dire situation faced by the koalas’ wild cousins in South East Queensland.<br />
“Sadly, koalas are under threat due to widespread urbanisation and if we do not<br />
rethink the way we use land, the unprecedented expansion of Queensland’s<br />
urban footprint could result in koalas becoming extinct in certain areas within<br />
five years. For the koala to have a future we need to take action now, and this<br />
experience is one way to raise awareness of the importance of protecting this<br />
<strong>Australia</strong>n icon and their habitats.”<br />
