Staff <strong>PHC</strong> Plan Brief 2017<br />

Staff Plan<br />

As the Pet Health Club has been so successful across IVC we would now like to introduce a Staff <strong>plan</strong> to add benefit to<br />

IVC employees.<br />

Currently very few <strong>staff</strong> choose to join the <strong>plan</strong> because their <strong>staff</strong> discount offers far higher savings. But this does mean<br />

that they do not necessarily benefit from all the scheme components – most notably routine flea and worming and<br />

health checks.<br />

Benefits to <strong>staff</strong> members:<br />

Staff can budget for the preventative health<br />

Staff discounts are built in so it is very clear what they are<br />

Gold standard care for <strong>staff</strong> pets<br />

Unique discounts only available to IVC Staff


Plan content:<br />

The content and discounts are as follows:<br />

Annual Vaccinations (including Kennel Cough)<br />

50% discount off additional vaccines e.g. rabies or BB<br />

12 months Flea and worm treatment (As per clinical board suggested protocol)<br />

For rabbits in place of flea and worm-1 x fly strike protection & Quarterly 9 day course of fenbendezole if appropriate<br />

for prevention of E.cuniculi . If it is not the protocol of the surgery to prophylactically treat for E.Cuniculi then a 2 nd<br />

Rearguard can be given<br />

Annual urine test free flow or Katkor sample dipstick & S.G (in-house)<br />

1 x 6-month health check<br />

Microchip or a £10 Voucher<br />

50% discount on first bag then cost price food (25% discount off Royal Canin, Hills or MFV life stage and prescription<br />

diets)<br />

50% discount on professional fees (i.e. consultations, non-routine) surgery, dental procedures fees & List Price<br />

medications OR 100% discount of insurance excess fees<br />

50% discount on neutering (1 pet per <strong>plan</strong>)<br />

25% off pet shop sales<br />

Free nail clips and anal gland expression


Costings:<br />

We have looked at the cost of <strong>PHC</strong> content and in-line with current <strong>staff</strong> discount brought the cost down to cost price.<br />

N.B. As we have discounted the <strong>plan</strong> down to cost price there is no further discount for subsequent pets. The discounts shown<br />

are on top of the savings that clients make on the normal <strong>PHC</strong> prices.


Launch:<br />

All Jupiter surgeries are able to launch as of Monday 17 th July 2017. If you are a non-Jupiter surgery offering National Pet<br />

Health Club you may require a little more time for the setup of these discounts, however we would recommend this being<br />

implemented before the end of July so that your <strong>staff</strong> can benefit from the <strong>plan</strong>.<br />

Adding or amending a <strong>staff</strong> <strong>plan</strong>:<br />

If any of your <strong>staff</strong> are currently on the standard <strong>plan</strong>-a message can be sent to Animal Healthcare via the ‘Contact Us’ tab on<br />

the portal to advise that the <strong>plan</strong> is now eligible for <strong>staff</strong> discount, Please also advise the new monthly amount. The <strong>plan</strong><br />

number is entered at the top of the message box.<br />

E.g.- Currently on a standard cat <strong>plan</strong>-£13.50-<br />

The message to AHC would say-This <strong>plan</strong> is a <strong>staff</strong> <strong>plan</strong> so please could you change the price to £8.95 per month from now<br />

on.<br />

Operational and Support office <strong>staff</strong> are also eligible to receive the discounted <strong>plan</strong> rates in IVC surgeries.<br />

If the <strong>plan</strong> is a new <strong>plan</strong>, then it is entered into the AHC portal the same as any other <strong>plan</strong> but should have STAFF in the <strong>plan</strong><br />

code field. The monthly amount applicable is then entered into the monthly direct debit price field.<br />

If for any reason there is a problem with entering any of the above <strong>information</strong> into the field AHC should be contacted<br />

directly- 0800 587 0068<br />

If a member of your team leaves you can amend back to national pricing via the ‘Contact us’ tab in the AHC portal in the<br />

same way as detailed above.


Administering the <strong>plan</strong>:<br />

The <strong>plan</strong> should be tagged on Jupiter as a <strong>PHC</strong> patient national <strong>plan</strong> as with client <strong>plan</strong>s via the ‘Join HCP’ button in the<br />

reception screen. And added as National <strong>PHC</strong> discount code in the patient tab.<br />

There are codes for the 1 st months payment (we would advise that <strong>staff</strong> members only pay one month up front followed by 11<br />

month’s direct debits in the first year) The codes are set up in the treatment screen as:<br />

<strong>PHC</strong> Staff Payment - Giant Dog<br />

<strong>PHC</strong> Staff Payment - Large Dog<br />

<strong>PHC</strong> Staff Payment - Medium Dog<br />

<strong>PHC</strong> Staff Payment - Rabbit<br />

<strong>PHC</strong> Staff Payment - Small Dog<br />

For the time being the <strong>plan</strong> benefits should be administered as follows:<br />

25% off pet shop sales – from the add treatment screen the 10% discount is deleted and the ‘25% discount’ code<br />

added (done in the ‘Add Treatment screen)<br />

Free nail clips and anal gland expression – use the standard <strong>PHC</strong> composites<br />

We are currently in the process of setting up the Health Plan module in Jupiter so when this is launched out to surgeries<br />

the discounts will hopefully be automated. We will provide more <strong>information</strong> on this as it becomes available.


FAQ’s<br />

Is there a limit on the number of pets a <strong>staff</strong> member can add on to a <strong>plan</strong>?<br />

No, <strong>staff</strong> can add as many of their own pets to the <strong>plan</strong>s as they like however there is no subsequent pet discount as we are<br />

offering the <strong>plan</strong> at cost price.<br />

What happens if a member of <strong>staff</strong> leaves the company?<br />

If a member of your team leaves you can amend back to national pricing via the ‘Contact us’ tab in the AHC portal or call AHC<br />

Can the 50% discount on services be used as well as the waiving of insurance excess?<br />

No, it is one or the other NOT both.<br />

Is there a minimum length of service before a member of <strong>staff</strong> can join a <strong>staff</strong> <strong>plan</strong>?<br />

No, all members of <strong>staff</strong> are eligible to join the <strong>plan</strong>. This would only change if they were to leave the company.<br />

Will <strong>staff</strong> <strong>plan</strong>s be included in our monthly <strong>PHC</strong> incentives?<br />

Yes, like any other <strong>plan</strong> we will pay £10 for all new <strong>plan</strong>s minus £10 for any cancellations in any month. (Net growth).
