Today’s strong and successful women share a common trait: They’ve found ways to forge a path in uncharted
territory and taken on daunting tasks that others fear. But even the most successful among us might struggle
with self-doubt or concern about how others view our actions and choices. How do you block out the unsupportive
inner and outer voices and focus on a strategy for success? Join Board Certified Counselor Dr. Kim Costello as
she asks panelists to discuss the risks they’ve taken, the keys to resilience, and how supporting others in their
journey has enriched their sense of achievement.
the heart of St. Petersburg’s EDGE District. She is a stylist and purchaser in the fashion
husband, Dan Wheldon, a two-time Indianapolis 500 winner and INDYCAR series champion,
who was killed in a motor racing accident in Las Vegas. Faced with the harsh reality of
being a widow at the age of 32, Susie had to publically come to terms with her grief while
trying to raise two small boys, Sebastian, aged 2 and Oliver, 7 months. Now six years later,
Susie keeps her husband’s legacy alive through The Dan Wheldon Foundation and other
philanthropic work benefitting the Alzheimer’s Association, a cause close to her heart.
Opening verve boutique earlier this year was the realization of her dream to become a
business owner, but also the personal acknowledgement and acceptance of what her life is
now and a daily reminder of her resilience and journey in overcoming tragedy.
