The Secretary’s Jottings
Good afternoon everyone, welcome to Woodstock Park.
Our visitors are Hastings United. Welcome to their players, officials and supporters and also
this afternoons match officials.
Hastings United are two points ahead of us in ninth place. Their last match was home to
Greenwich Borough and despite being 2-1 up at one stage they lost by 5-2. Before that they
had wins over East Grinstead (3-1) and Herne Bay (3-0).
At last we won a game! And won it comprehensively. Despite Guernsey saying they had some
players back from injury and other reasons, we totally dominated the 90 minutes. How we only
scored four goals is somewhat of amystery. A good game for the spectators with all the
chances we had and the resulting goal mouth action.
I watched the video highlights of our defeat at Carshalton Athletic on Robins TV You Tube
channel. Must say I was very impressed with the quality of the coverage. This is something we
are looking at doing ourselves but we need the right people to instigate it. Talking of video coverage,
our home fixture against Walton Casuals on Saturday February 10 th will be featured on
“Back of The Net”. If you are not familiar with “Back of The Net” have a look at their web site at
www.backofthenetsouth.co.uk.
Nick has released Jordan Carey, and we wish him well in the future.
Our next match is next Saturday when we are away to VCD Athletic. Directions to their ground
are elsewhere in the programme. We are next here on Saturday 27 th January when Horsham
are the visitors.
Enjoy the game!
