◈ Commissioning, Tuning & Test
Project Description
Project Name : Shuqaiq 720MW x 4unit Steam
Power Plant Project
Client : Saudi Electric Company
Contractor : Hyundai Heavy Industries
Scope of Work : Commissioning & Technical
advise for system engineer.
Contract Period : Nov.2016 ~ Aug.2017
UMC/APC Tuning
It fine-tunes the control and process of each
plant to optimize the plant's operation and
optimizes the plant's characteristics so that the
plant can operate with contracted performance.
Project commissioning is for the process of Power Plant Project assuring that all components
and systems of the plant are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to
the contractual requirements.
The main objective of commissioning is the final handover of the unit to the owner,
guaranteeing its operability in terms of performance, reliability, safety and information
traceability.
The objectives of the commissioning are to:
1) Ensure that the structures, systems and components have been constructed,
manufactured and installed correctly and that they are functioning as anticipated by the design
specification.
2) Demonstrate that the systems, structures, and components operate in accordance
with design bases, specifically in accordance with the contractual requirements.
This demonstration primarily implies verifying:
• That the unit operates correctly under steady state and transient conditions,
• That plant performance complies with the contractual requirements,
• That contractual operating requirements are suitably adapted to the plant.
3) Provide measured data for use as a reference in subsequent plant operation and testing
during plant-life.
4) Bring the plant to rated capacity and sustained power operation and confirm that the plant
is capable of generating the power required under the specified operating conditions.
