Sindh CM decides to establish
Child Protection Units K
KARACHI: Sindh Chief
Minister Syed Murad Ali
Shah has decided to establish
Child Protection Units
at all the Women Police
Stations to deal with child
abuse cases.
He took this decision
while presiding over a meeting
of Child Protection
Committee (CPU) here at the
CM House. The meeting was
attended by provincial ministers,
Sohail Anwar Siyal,
Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, Chief
Secretary Rizwan Memon,
IG Sindh AD Khowaja,
Justice (rtd) Nasir Aslam
Zahid, Principal Secretary to
CM Sohail Rajput, Secretary
Education Iqbal Durani,
Advocate Zia Awan,
Shahzad Roi and others.
The chief minister said:
"The children are our hope,
our future and beauty of our
society; therefore, we have
to protect them from abuse
and have to nurture them

Drinking Water Solar
Filtration Plant which is
dedicated
to
ShaheedJunaidJamshed
(r.a). The plant is located
near Karachi Toll Plaza and
will be providing clean
drinking water to more
than 10,000 to 15000 beneficiaries.
The project has
been completed in 40 days
with estimated cost of 50 to
60 thousand dollars. HNF
has completed projects in
all provinces especially
more than 75 projects in

projects are ongoing in
in Pakistan. He was not only

poet. His Punjabi poetry

Police arrest three suspects
in injured conditions
KARACHI: Police on Monday claimed to have
arrested three suspects after encounters in the metropolis.
According to police sources, a police team apprehended
two armed robbers, Muhammad Asif alias
Khani, son of Muhammad Iqbal, and Ubaidullah alias
Chotu, son of Abdul Rehman, in injured condition after
the exchange of the fire in Lyari’s Baghdadi area.The
police said that the accused were wanted to police in
four criminals cases. The police also claimed to have
recovered two TT pistols with rounds and drugs forom
their possession. The injured were shifted to Civil
Hospital Karachi for treatment.

results,” he said.
SMIU organizes
Faculty Training
Program

University’s ORIC
Department organized a
five-day Faculty Training
Program-2018 for newly
appointed faculty members
of the university at its Quaide-
Azam Conference Hall.

Director HRM, and focal person
of training program in her
introductory speech said that it
was a very important training
program, especially for young
faculty members. She said
that development of SMIU
staff is a regular feature at the
university. This is why, they
said, in-house training program
was purely designed for
faculty members.
Ms Batool said that purpose
of training was to
improve quality of teaching,
research and communication
skills of the faculty. Also to
provide them a platform to
experience different ways of
learning and self-development.

Aijaz Ahmed Khan inaugurated
a polio vaccination
campaign by administering
polio drops to children at
Chanesar Goth area of the
metropolis on Monday.
The anti-polio drive in
city will continue till
January 28, said a press
release issued here.
Around 2200,000 children
would be administered
polio drops, and 9000 teams
have been formed for the
purpose. Special police and
rangers teams would provide
security to the polio
teams.
