The NFBWA Talking Sprinkler, Larry says you only need to water your lawn twice a week, so please water every 4 days - no more. Cinco MUD 8 recommends watering for 8 minutes for each zone. Replace any broken sprinkler heads. See www. cincomud8.com for rebate info. Check out www.talkingsprinkler.com. The EPA’s We’re for Water yearlong campaign recommends the following water savings inside and outside your home: • The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) created “We’re for Water” as a national campaign to educate consumers about watersaving behaviors and WaterSense labeled products. The WaterSense label makes it easy to identify products that use less water and perform as well as or better than standard models. • Whether by replacing an inefficient fixture with a WaterSense labeled product or adopting water-efficient behaviors, we can all take action to save water for future generations. • Saving is as easy as check, twist, replace. • Check toilets for silent leaks: put a few drops of food coloring in the tank and wait 10 minutes to flush. If color appears in the bowl, the flapper may need replacing. • Twist on a WaterSense labeled bathroom faucet aerator to save water and energy at the tap without noticing a difference in flow. • Replace your showerhead with a WaterSense labeled model that uses less water and energy, but still lets you shower with power. • Join thousands of your neighbors in We’re for Water. Make simple changes at home to save water and energy. • Go to epa.gov/watersense to take the I’m for Water pledge. • The pledge is also located in documents on www.cincomud8.com. Find a pet? See a pet running around a neighborhood? Please share it with the Cinco Ranch Area Lost and Found Pet Network: www.facebook.com/groups/CRLostPets. We are a group run by Cinco Ranch residents for Cinco Ranch residents to help lost pets find their way home through networking with like-minded rescue groups and other HOA pages. Cinco Ranch Lost and Found Pet Network is a resource with many documents available located within our group files to help those who have both lost and found pets, as well as lists of related, pet service providers. For instance, did you know animal control in Fort Bend County is all the way down in Rosenberg, but if you live in the Harris County portion of Cinco and your dog is picked up, it is taken all the way up by I-45 and Canino Road - near Little York Road? (The worst scenario is if a dog that lives in one county ends up being picked up in the other county.) Also, if your pet is brought to one of these locations, you likely will only have three days to find it before it is released for adoption OR euthanized. If you wait to see if your animal returns home on its own, it might be too late! Please use this new group as needed and share our page with Facebook friends!
