Event information and race reports can be found on our website which also has links to Scottish Athletics, Scottish Hill Racing and Scottish Hill Runners. Club Grand Prix: We hold three competitions for club members, Cross Country during the winter, Road Races over the summer and Hill Races more or less all year round. Each series consists of about 6 races with points awarded for 1st through to 8th place. Four races have to be run to be eligible for the generous prizes. General: Tuesday training sessions are at Beeslack High School meeting at the school entrance/main car park at 7.00 p.m. During the winter months we use the circuit at Cornbank or a circuit around Mauricewood/Greenlaw Mains depending on the weather. We typically jog steadily 1 or 2 miles for a warm-up followed by up to 8 reps of between 300 and 800 metres. You can choose a slow or fast group (short or longer distance) depending on your level of fitness. A 2-mile club handicap race is held on the last Tuesday of each month, usually at Cornbank during the winter. Hill reps. are on Thursdays starting at the lane at the top of Belmans Road (be warmed up for 7.00 p.m.) The coaches will inform you when the venue changes. We are a friendly club and always welcome new runners of all abilities. Further information can be found on our website www. penicuikharriers.org.uk or contact Bill Bennet on 01968 674500. The club would also like to hear from anyone who may be interested in a coaching role at the club. For further information contact either Bill Bennet on the number above or Allan Dunbar at secretary@penicuikharriers .org.uk.
