Innovating for the environment
Above, left: These “Southern Belles” won the
hearts of parade judges at the Edgewater
Christmas Parade, earning the “most related
to the theme” award. Given the theme,
Sounds of Christmas, girls used teamwork
and creativity to establish their concept using
a play-on-words.
Through the First Lego League (FLL) games this year,
themed “Trash Trek,” teams were challenged to come
up with an innovative solution for a single piece of trash.
This team developed a solution for plastic water bottles,
designing a new all-in-one trash can for public spaces that
automatically sorts and stores recyclables separate from
landfill waste.

Supporting local veterans
Knowing that local veterans could use some extra
holiday cheer, troops joined together to assemble
Thanksgiving meal supplies into 32 “Holiday Dinners
in a Bag” and distribute them to residents at Victory
Village in Titusville.
Participating troops were: 167, 270, 373, 505, 726,
793, 835, 1703, 2111, 2115, JrFLL Team B.E.E.s,
FLL Team C.A.K.E. B.A.T.T.E.R.S, and FTC Team
F.R.E.N.C.H. F.R.I.E.S.
