Prayer Meeting
Prayer Meeting will be held this Wednesday evening, February 7, at 7:00 pm in conjunction
with Oakwood University (OU) Student Week of Prayer. The guest speaker
will be Jacques LaGuerre. Prayer Meeting for adults and university students will be
in the main sanctuary, while Prayer Meeting for our youth will be in the multipurpose
rooms. All are encouraged to attend.
Stewardship Corner
John Wesley said, “If people were more alive to God, they would be more liberal.”
Giving liberally is a direct consequence of commitment to Christ. Christian Stewardship
is a spiritual matter. “The offering is one more way to express our appreciation
to God for the greatest gift of all - the gift of our redemption” (Eugene Grimm, Generous
People, Abingdon Press, 1992, p. 78). We are never more like God than when we
give. “For God so loved the world that He gave . . .” (John 3:16). May our Tithe and
Combined Budget Giving today reflect our appreciation for redemption and as we
give, ask ourselves, “How is my giving reflecting the image of God?”
Oakwood Adventist Academy (OAA) Building Project
Please be mindful of our financial commitment to the OAA Building Project. Given
our church obligation of $3,000,000.00, the OUC makes a monthly payment to satisfy
this commitment. Let us all support this collective responsibility through our systematic
financial support, which is in addition to our normal Tithe and Combined Budget
Offering. All donations, large or small, are sincerely appreciated. Kindly mark on
your offering envelope, “OAA Building Fund.”
“Restoration 40” - Construction of Family Life Center
Our Family Life Center is 95% complete! The Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting Date
is February 24! As we go into the “home stretch” for construction completion, everyone
is kindly asked to intensify their giving efforts for our Family Life Center Building
Project, which is inclusive of our “Restoration 40” initiative. Each member is
asked to reach a goal of $1,000.00 for this project through a one time gift, systematic
monthly gifts, or the solicitation of donations from family members, friends, neighbors,
co-workers, and businesses (in addition to your normal Tithe and Combined
Budget Offering). If you have reached your $1,000.00 goal, please feel free to give
additional funds. Donations can be made via your offering envelope and labeled,
“Restoration 40.” Thank you.
2017 Contribution Statements
The 2017 Contribution Statements are now available. Please visit the church office
method you would like your statement delivered (email, post mail, or pick-up).
Thank you for your continued support to the ministry of the OUC.
