The Katherine Tyra Bear Creek popup libraries include storytime, crafts
for children, laptops with internet access for public use and several
types of books for all ages are available to checkout. Patrons can also
return materials that they’ve borrowed. There will be a late afternoon
Pokemon Club for teens after 4 PM. For details about the Pokemon Club,

• WRITERS’ WORKSHOP-HOUSTON WRITERS GUILD - Saturday,
February 17 th , 12:30-2:30 PM at Maud Smith Marks Library, 1815
Westgreen, Katy, TX 77450. Come to this hands-on multi-part workshop
to learn tips of the trade from expert writers from The Houston Writers
Guild. They will provide instruction to all writers at every level. Beginners
and experienced writers are welcome.
• CONVERSATIONAL ESL - Tuesdays, 12-1 PM at Bear Creek United

conversation skills. Learn new words and improve your English.
• MYSTERY BOOK CLUB - Thursday, February 1 st , 11 AM, located at
Whataburger, 5815 Hwy 6 N., Houston, TX 77084. All sleuths and amateur
Sherlocks heed this call! Join the Mystery Book Club on the third
Thursday of each month to discuss tantalizing mysteries. This month
we will discuss Plum Lovin’ by Janet Evonovich.
• SAVVY STITCHERS - Thursdays, 2-3 PM at Clay’s Restaurant, 17717 Clay
Rd., Houston, TX 77084. Join us at this informal crafting group. Bring your
stitching, crochet, knitting or other fabric project to work on. Share ideas
and learn new techniques from others.

• HISTORY MYSTERY FICTION BOOK CLUB - 3 rd Monday at 2 PM. Enjoy
reading and discussing the many wonderful works of Historical & Mystery
Fiction that are on the market today. Learn about the authors, the stories
and discuss the ideas presented in the books.
• COMPUTER CLASS - Tuesdays at 10 AM. These computer classes are designed
for adults with a specific topic every week. The classes are an excellent
opportunity to learn more about computers in a relaxed environment filled
with smiles and laughter. All classes are free and open to the public.
• YOGA - Wednesdays at 6 PM. Come and get fit with Yoga. Very good
group that are excited with what they dot. Be apart and bring your own

• CREATIVE ART CLUB - Wednesdays at 1:30 PM. Like art of all kind?
Come and join in with your creative ability. Sketching, painting, drawing,
coloring, including Zentangle. No talent needed. Instructor: Judy Stevens
• SIT AND STITCH - Thursdays at 10 AM. Are you crafty? Come and join
us for Sit & Stitch - bring knitting, crochet, cross-stitch or other projects!
• SWEET INSPIRATION BOOK CLUB - 3 RD Thursday at 2 PM. Enjoy reading
and discussing Christian Authors book. These books will have your heart
singing. Come and enjoy!
• QUILTING BEE - Tuesdays, 1 PM. Adults18+ Be at the Bee! The Library
Quilting Bee that is… Bring your projects, machines, looms, material
stash, etc. and quilt ‘til you wilt!
TEEN ACTIVITIES
• GAME DAY FRENZY - ages 12+. Wednesdays at 4 PM. Hey Gamers! Come
challenge your friends and show off those gamer skills!
CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES

the performance of nursery rhymes and songs and encourage interaction
between caregivers and babies through the use of educational toys.
• BABY WIGGLES for children ages 12-18 months - Wednesdays at 2 PM.
Children’s Librarian will read a simple story, lead everyone through the
performance of nursery rhymes and songs and encourage interaction
between caregivers and babies through the use of educational toys.
• TODDLER STORY TIME for children ages 18-36 months - Thursdays at
10:30 AM. Children’s Librarian will read stories, lead everyone in song and
direct the making of a craft project for this younger set.
Children’s programs require a free ticket for admission. Tickets will
be distributed beginning 30 minutes before the program begins. All
programs are free and open to the public.
