PSA Organica was the first Palm Springs City approved Recreational Marijuana dispensary. PSA Organica, at 400 E Sunny Dunes Rd, Palm Springs, CA 92264 (Between Jack in the Box on Palm Canyon and Builders Supply on Sunny Dunes) This was the first and only dispensary on January first to hold the City of Palm Springs Recreational license. No cards needed! Julie and Lenny Montante There is plenty of parking in the rear. What are we talking about? In 1996, California became the first state to legalize marijuana for medicinal use only. In November, 2016, the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (Proposition 64) was passed in California legalizing the recreational use of marijuana for adults over the age of 21! As a result of the newfound recreational legality, adults are allowed to possess up to one ounce of marijuana at a time, and cultivate up to 6 plants – as long as they are out of public view. When does it officially start? It officially began this January 1, at 6AM. What will I need to make a purchase? You must be 21 or older and have a valid ID-and your money of course! Cash only. How does the process and availability compare between Medical and Recreation? The law was written with a 6 month grace period. Within that time, procedures and processes may change, but for now, all of the same products will be available to adult recreational use as well as medical. One of the only differences will be the taxing of the products. Medical will most likely have less taxes. Look for changes in the 6 month period as the process evolves. Right now it is not completely defined. What types of marijuana will the stores sell?
