hear the contempt of court case on<br />

Monday <strong>Feb</strong>ruary 26 against the management<br />

of Pakistan Standards & Quality<br />

Control Authority (PSQCA)<br />

at Karachi in Constitution Petition<br />

filled No. 1549/20<strong>11</strong>.<br />

Alleged contemnors of the case<br />

included; Ms.Yasmeen Masood Federal<br />

Secretary, Science & Technology<br />

Islamabad, Engineer Muhammad Khalid<br />

Siddiq Director General PSQCA including<br />

Ghulam Umer Kazi Secretary<br />

PSQCA and Irshad Ali Ansari Director<br />

According to detail Rehmatullah<br />

Memon Media Adviser PSQCA a Senior<br />

Most officer of PSQCA (BPS 18) had<br />

filed a petition bearing No.1549/20<strong>11</strong><br />

which is pending before the High Court<br />

of Sindh in which “Stay Order was in<br />

operation in 17.07.2013 PSQCA management<br />

conducted DPC AGAINST Sindh<br />

High Court Stay orders also passed the<br />

orders against Promotion of Petitioner”<br />

Sindh High Court again granted orders in<br />

favor of petitioner to “Consider<br />

Promotion of Petitioner on dated 22-03-<br />

2013”.<br />

Sattar clarified that the current<br />

issue does not stem from stubbornness<br />

or ego, however, he maintained<br />

that the issue is not about Tessori's<br />

Senate nomination, rather the "issue<br />

is something else entirely".<br />

against him and alleged violation of High<br />

Court orders & code of conduct. He further<br />

stated that even in view of above submission<br />

DPC was conducted in January 2017<br />

but again the name of petitioner was not<br />

considered in positive manners even in<br />

Nov. 2016 both deputationed officers<br />

Police arrest gang of robbers in North Karachi<br />

KARACHI: The<br />

Supreme Court on Saturday<br />

directed Sindh government<br />

to release salaries of Karachi<br />

Development Authority<br />

(KDA) 98 employees, which<br />

are outstanding for last 19<br />

months forthwith.<br />

A two-judge bench of the<br />

apex court comprising<br />

Justices Gulzar Ahmed and<br />

Maqbool Baqar was hearing<br />

the petition of former KDA<br />

employees who were transferred<br />

to Malir Development<br />

Authority (MDA) but were<br />

not paid their outstanding<br />

dues.<br />

In Saturday’s hearing, the<br />

court expressed extreme displeasure<br />

when it learnt that<br />

employees were not paid<br />

their pending salaries despite<br />

its directives. “Should we<br />

freeze Sindh government’s<br />

bank account,” the judges<br />

remarked.<br />

The court observed that<br />

the Sindh government officials<br />

should be ashamed<br />

keeping in view that employees<br />

were deprived of their<br />

salaries for several months.<br />

The advocate general<br />

Sindh said that the provincial<br />

government had approved<br />

the summary in this regard<br />

and the dues will be released<br />

within two days.<br />

The court directed<br />

accountant general and chief<br />

secretary to ensure payment<br />

of 98 employees immediately<br />

or else strict action will be<br />

taken against them.<br />

Adjourning the matter, the<br />

court sought compliance<br />

report by Monday.<br />

Earlier, the petitioners<br />

informed the judges that the<br />

KDA had transferred two<br />

land schemes to the MDA<br />

along with 98 KDA employees,<br />

who also included officers.<br />

They said that they<br />

were asked by the MDA to<br />

rejoin the KDA their parent<br />

(SDPO) Altaf Hussain told PPI that<br />

the accused had robbed Rs 1.1 million<br />

from a man, Rashid, and were<br />

also involved in other crimes.<br />

He further said that police also<br />

recovered a 9 MM pistol, snatched<br />

cash, two motorbikes and mobile<br />

phones from their possession.<br />

said several officers<br />

and others employees of the<br />

KDA and the MDA were<br />

still posted in different<br />

departments of the city government<br />

on deputation.<br />
