from splitting up, says Sattar

aimed towards saving the party
from splitting up.
“My utmost effort is aimed
towards stopping this party from
splitting. We can not let 40 years of
efforts go to waste," said the
MQM-P chief while addressing a
press conference at his PIB Colony
residence.
Sattar and the party’s Rabita
Committee have been at loggerheads
over the allotment of Senate
tickets and the rift intensified as the
latter wrote a letter to the Election
Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on
Friday, informing the ECP that the

SHC to hear constitution
petition, contempt case
on 26th Feb against
Management of PSQCA
KARACHI: Sindh High Court has to
hear the contempt of court case on
Monday February 26 against the management
of Pakistan Standards & Quality
Control Authority (PSQCA)
Ministry of Science and Technology
at Karachi in Constitution Petition
filled No. 1549/2011.
Alleged contemnors of the case
included; Ms.Yasmeen Masood Federal
Secretary, Science & Technology
Islamabad, Engineer Muhammad Khalid
Siddiq Director General PSQCA including
Ghulam Umer Kazi Secretary
PSQCA and Irshad Ali Ansari Director
legal PSQCA.
According to detail Rehmatullah
Memon Media Adviser PSQCA a Senior
Most officer of PSQCA (BPS 18) had
filed a petition bearing No.1549/2011
which is pending before the High Court
of Sindh in which “Stay Order was in
operation in 17.07.2013 PSQCA management
conducted DPC AGAINST Sindh
High Court Stay orders also passed the
orders against Promotion of Petitioner”
Sindh High Court again granted orders in
favor of petitioner to “Consider
Promotion of Petitioner on dated 22-03-
2013”.
The Notices were issued to the contemnors
The Petitioner had contended
that He was Senior Most officer in
Authority and since 30 years working in
PSQCA the deputation officers came
from the others department on deputation
which was another violation of Hon'able
“Supreme Court” orders they had planned
to blocked the petitioner and carried
DPC’s and Passed orders against
Rehmatullah Memon also issued service
rules against the orders of Sindh High
Court, as petitioner is bonafied officer of
PSQCA as per act 6 of 1996 his benefits
will not be reduced.
The Sindh High Court in its orders earlier
passed 3 times 01.03.2012,
17.07.2013, 20.08.2013 the order said
with the committee, not the party
chief.
Sattar clarified that the current
issue does not stem from stubbornness
or ego, however, he maintained
that the issue is not about Tessori's
Senate nomination, rather the "issue
is something else entirely".

Deputation officers they blockage the
promotion of Petitioner and mentally
torcher created as he was on top list of
promotion in BPS-19, since file the petition
in Sindh High Court the Petitioner
was transfer here to there and some 14
times transfer orders of the Petitioner
were issued which was another violation
of the Hon'able Sindh High Court.
While talking to this newspaper the
advocate of Petitioner Mr. Irfan Mir
Halepoto said that the petition bearing
No. 1549/2011 filed by Rehmatullah
Memon against the Federal Secretary, DG
PSQCA and others on the action taken
against him and alleged violation of High
Court orders & code of conduct. He further
stated that even in view of above submission
I have apprehensions that recently
DPC was conducted in January 2017
but again the name of petitioner was not
considered in positive manners even in
Nov. 2016 both deputationed officers
appeared before the Sindh High Court
and commit in written statement that the
petitioner will be considered in promotion
but they didn't consider him.
Now Sindh High Court take up this
case and hearing in this case is fixed on
26th Feb 2018. Notices were issued and
asked management to file comments in

New drive:
2,280,000 children
to be administered
anti-polo drops
KARACHI: Under
upcoming seven-day drive,
2,280,000 children will be
administered anti-polio drops
in the 188 Union Councils of
the metropolis.
In this regard, Karachi
Commissioner Ajaz Ahmed
Khan presided over a meeting
to review the arrangements
for upcoming sevenday
anti-polio drive, which
will start from February 19
and will continue till
February 25 in Karachi.
The meeting was attended
by Additional Commissioner
Karachi, Deputy
Commissioners, District
Health officers of all districts
of Karachi, police officers,
representative of WHO,
UNICEF, Bill Gates
Foundation, Rotary Club and
other stakeholders.
On this occasion, the
commissioner directed all the
officials concerned to make
all out efforts for the success
of the upcoming anti-polio
campaign.
He also called for utilization
all available resources
to achieve 100% vaccination
targets.
The meeting was
informed that 9000 teams
will take part in the campaign
while 2000 teams will
be for the monitoring and
22,80000 children will be
administered anti-polio
drops in the 188 Union
Councils of the metropolis.
The MQM-P chief further said
the issue emerging from the Senate
nomination was not supposed to go
public, as it is the first rule of the
party to keep its matters private.
Welcoming the difference of
opinion, Sattar said it is the beauty
of a democratic party that difference
of opinion is solved through
discussion.
Earlier, the Rabita Committee,
in what seemed to be a new attempt
to appease disgruntled chief
Farooq Sattar, announced to
rescind a letter it had written to the
Election Commission of Pakistan
(ECP). In a new turn of events, the
Rabita Committee announced to
visit Sattar at his residence in
Karachi's PIB Colony during a
media address at the party's
Bahadurabad office.
"We are going to make a new
attempt today," party leader
Kanwar Naveed Jamil told journalists.
"We are rescinding the letter
earlier sent to the ECP and the
deputy convener is on his way to
meet Sattar."

Police arrest gang of robbers in North Karachi
KARACHI: The
Supreme Court on Saturday
directed Sindh government
to release salaries of Karachi
Development Authority
(KDA) 98 employees, which
are outstanding for last 19
months forthwith.
A two-judge bench of the
apex court comprising
Justices Gulzar Ahmed and
Maqbool Baqar was hearing
the petition of former KDA
employees who were transferred
to Malir Development
Authority (MDA) but were
not paid their outstanding
dues.
In Saturday’s hearing, the
court expressed extreme displeasure
when it learnt that
employees were not paid
their pending salaries despite
its directives. “Should we
freeze Sindh government’s
bank account,” the judges
remarked.
The court observed that
the Sindh government officials
should be ashamed
keeping in view that employees
were deprived of their
salaries for several months.
The advocate general
Sindh said that the provincial
government had approved
the summary in this regard
and the dues will be released
within two days.
The court directed
accountant general and chief
secretary to ensure payment
of 98 employees immediately
or else strict action will be
taken against them.
Adjourning the matter, the
court sought compliance
report by Monday.
Earlier, the petitioners
informed the judges that the
KDA had transferred two
land schemes to the MDA
along with 98 KDA employees,
who also included officers.
They said that they
were asked by the MDA to
rejoin the KDA their parent
(SDPO) Altaf Hussain told PPI that
the accused had robbed Rs 1.1 million
from a man, Rashid, and were
also involved in other crimes.
He further said that police also
recovered a 9 MM pistol, snatched
cash, two motorbikes and mobile
phones from their possession.
